Hehe, couldn't take part in this poll either. My use of EQ depends on the amp I'm using, if it's an amp w/o a loop it's in the front obviously, and if it's an amp with a loop then most likely in the loop.

That said I don't use EQ at the moment at all.

in the loop, before the decimator.

send-eq-decimator-time based effects-return (hoping you are using good effects processing)

Nooo you want the decimator to include all the time based stuff behind it that might make noise. So it should go send > time based effects > eq > decimator > return, or put the eq in the front like u said. I dont have one yet so im just thinking without being able to experament

I use the EQ in my Mark III, not sure where it is in the tone chain.

Haha dont tell me to put it in front of the amp just cuz YOU dont have a loop! I have a loop!

depends on the desired outcome of the EQ - if the pickup needs attention i run it in front of the amp. If the amp EQ needs TLC or a certain EQ needs attention then i use the loop. I try not to use anything at all though - most EQ's are RC time constants and introduce phase differences that make certain frequencies disappear or hard to record in a band setting. Plus many can introduce noise if not careful depending on how the R/C stages are laid out/designed/what components were used.

I used to have a cool video comparing loop vs front of amp with an MXR 10-Band. It was so much more effective in the loop. It had a very minimal effect when placed before the amp. I'll see if it's still in iMovie on my laptop...

In the loop if my amp has one. Otherwise after the dirt boxes in the front of the amp if there is no effects loop.

Danelectro fish and chips EQs are what I have, cheap, but nice.
