Ok well i only have 1 Cameron right now which i believe is a HG Jose or atleast close to a HG Jose. Il post pics of all 3 Camerons i have owned though!

Here's my main and fav one (only one too ). 1979 JMP 2203 and it has a 2nd gain control added next to the inputs (push/pull), a 3 way poweramp voicing on the back and the bass boost. Loads of gain and killer mids.. very John Norum sounding!

Heres a 2 channel Jose which i owned also. 1981 JMP 2203 with the HG Jose on the front panel and LG Jose on the back panel. FX Loop and also bass boost and bass boost eq dial. This one wasnt super high gain, but more like early VH/Lynch type gain

Here's the very first Cameron i owned. It originally belonged to Steve Snider and then also Randy (Rufus Leaking). It was based on an Aldrich mod but with tons of extra switches/boosts/2 six way preamp and poweramp voicing switches.
It was a killer sounding amp but i found myself spending all the time tweaking rather than playing, so i wanted a more simple layout Cameron mod and ended up selling it.

I also owned 2 of the amps Dan posted above. Plus, here's a couple more I previously owned - another Jose and an Aldrich;

I think there was another one in there somewhere but I can't find it now.

Also, a Cameron modded XTC (still have) and a Cameron modded Uberschall (sold).

How do the HG Jose's (which you have now) sound compared to the HG Jose i have now which you used to own?

Im always interested to hear about the difference in tone between these amps even when they have the same type of mod!

Hi Dan,

That Jose you have now is kind of unique sounding as far as Jose's go... it has that real Norumish, upper mid snarl to it, almost like a cocked wah. It's also a very big sounding amp. As I recall I usually ran the mids fairly low and used a JJ in V1 of that amp to darken it up a bit.

The other Jose's I have and have previously owned are a little more open, a little more evenly balanced across the frequency spectrum.

I just put a JJ in V1 last night and it did darken it up a bit! In a nice way!

Interestingly enough Mark Cameron posted on one of the threads here this weekend saying that my amp isnt a HG Jose but one of his other mods. Its definitly a high gain mod, but he said if it doesnt have the diode master volume then its not a HG Jose mod. And sure enough, mine doesnt have that diode master.

Wonder what the mod actually is.. it definitly sounds very Jose-ish to me!

Well that makes sense... it did seem to have some Aldrich characteristics to it. I bought / traded it from Todd Duane who used it one some Youtube clips. And yes, it was 'just barely on'.

Here is mine. Its a '81 2204. It is supposed to be modded to be the ultimate 800. There is a touch more gain than stock but not Aldrich levels or anything. Still needs a pedal to get to metal territory. But it is very big sounding. Cleans up w/ vol knob as well. Loop has been added and there is a push pull on the presence to cut the sometimes harsh Marshall presence. Smooths it out and makes it warmer.

yep. forgot to mention internal bass boost also to tighten up the bottom end and make is "big" sounding.

the far left control where the jewel light used to be is a resonance control...i have 3 push pull switches..bass/treble and gain...

its a killer amp...i dont use the gain boost on the amp..i have the gain control pulled out on the push/pull..and i run the gain at 1 o/clock..serious amounts of gain on this one..

ill never sell it!!...ill be buried with this thing...
