Anyone use them for their rigs even if they dont include any rack gear. Ive got a Mark IV halftsack and a pedaltrain pro full of pedals with 2 pedal power 2+'s and started wondering if i should power it all with a nice power conditioner. Do they really make a big enough difference for the price other than just being a fancy surge protector? I know the cheaper ones are just basically rack mounted power strips so before i dropped a couple hundred bucks on one i wanted to get yalls opinions. Also if yall could recommend me any that are good and worth the price feel free. Currently just been using one of these since i got it for free.

I'm currently using a Monster power strip I got from guitar center. I don't have a rack setup so I need something different. I've heard lots of good things about this unit from Furman and I'm thinking about picking one up. It's a surge protector and power conditioner.

It is big though. Check the deminsions on that bad boy. But I think it would be perfect for my needs. My buddy got one for his pedal based rig and he loves it. I keep my Monster unit mounted on the side of my speaker cab and plug everything into it. I could then just plug my Monster unit in to this thing on the floor next to my amp or amps. They are a little pricey. But I've got a lot invested in my rig and I want it protected. I cant use a racktype though so I think this is what I'm leaning towards.

Why cant you use a racktype conditioner? I already have an emty 2 space rack that i dont use so ive been thinking about putting a nice unit in there and just leaving it on top of head.

Use that and then plug into this

It'll clean up your power and protect everything. They run about $180 but well worth the investment.

All of the above mentioned Furman products don't regulate the power, they basically provide overvoltage protection and noise/interference protection. A regulated power supply, as opposed to a conditioner, will stabilize the voltage to your gear at approximately 120v eliminating overvoltage and brown outs. Conditioners are basically a breakered power strip, thus the big price difference between them and a regulated power supply.

I ditched my racksetup. I have a G- System now and keep everything on the floor.

*EDIT*

Working something like this http://www.furmansound.com/product.php? ... d=P-1800AR into a pedal board would be nice.
This is the floor version of that rack unit.

Yes, but not exactly "compact" or have the wall wart spacing, etc...

I just think it would be nice to have all that in one unit so you drop the board, and run everything conditioned off it.

I need a 240 volt voltage regulator. I have a pedal-based rig, but I need a decent power supply.
