Has anyone tried any alternative power tube types in their Jube? With the option to do so

I haven't tried other power tubes. I think the stock tubes are Tung-sols. I have rolled preamp tubes. JJ's, EH, Tung-sol, 5751's, Chinese square getters. In my opinion, the stock Chinese are perfect.

Ohh yes I did. I tried combinations of pairs..KT88/EL34, 6550/6L6, KT66/6550, and my favorite was EL34/KT90. KT90s are big sounding like 88s but have the mids of a 34. Made the Jube really big sounding yet warm. Biased between 110-120 for KT 90s and 76 for the Siemens 34s. Awesome.billboogie":29jhfc2t said:

Yeah, I tried some tung - sol 6550's and tube store KT88's, but ended up liking Svetlana ( not =C=) el34s the best.
And yes the RI 2555x is a very nice amp.
