I came across this really good video comparing the sonic differences between 11 power tubes. It's probably one of the most uniform setup comparison's I've seen. Each tube goes through the same amp and the guy even goes as far as to set plate voltages the same for each tube.
Some sonic qualities were fairly apparent to me like the chimeyness of the EL84 compared to everything else. OTOH, I'd be hard pressed to pick out any difference between a 6L6GC and 5881.
I'm curious to what characteristics of each tube stood out to you and/or any major differences you were able to hear between tubes.
