What do you guys play through for practice?

When I'm not "practicing" loudly through the Rhodes Colossus, it's the Boss GT-100 -> computer speakers I have in my home office/computer room. I bought it for effects but it doubles nicely as a quick practice and recording tool as it has a recording interface via USB. If I didn't already have the Boss I'd get a something for the iPhone/iPad.

For practice I use my friends Commander ll 100 watt solid state Randall, Green Rhino and an Epiphone Standard.

Nothing fancy but it gets the job done with a solid drummer in the background to help me dig in to the rythm.

Pretty much Randalls SS answer to Fenders Twin Reverb.

PODxt or I plug one of the amps into a smaller cabinet (a 1x12 doesn't throw off as much bass as a bigger cab, so doesn't disturb other folks nearly as much, even at similar volumes).

I recently decided to join a cover band just to put my JTV/POD HD500 to work and I'm extremely happy with it in that format. We're playing a lot of different (mostly down) tunings and the flexibility of this rig is incomparable. Everyone who's heard it is impressed. So much so that the other guitarist ended up getting a similar rig. People have been raving about how the guitars sound. Did I mention setup and tear-down are a few minutes, done. The acoustic tones are a super big surprise to those watching.

Earlier this year I decided to bring all my guitars back into standard tuning and use the JTV for everything tuned differently. Not only have my guitars come back to life - in the sense that I believe they're made to resonate at standard tuning - the L6 rig has really become a great learning tool for different tunings. I initially bought it for another cover band, which immediate after getting going disbanded and the rig actually sat here for quite some time. ...ah...I'm rambling...

At home I have my Marshall stack and pedals and for practices I just bring my Line 6 combo... It's annoying enough getting that Marshall up a few flights of stairs and into my car for shows, ain't no way I'm dragging that thing to practice... Especially since it takes me a few days after the show to get the rig from my car and set up in my room again...

I use my SL-5 for practice. If I need it to be heard more, I bring my Torpedo live and go straight into the PA.

Works perfectly!

Yamaha Thr10x.... useful and my neighbors don't mind Pretty good tones outta that lil guy... playable and somewhat organic.. not modulated sounding.

Longer practice during day: EVH 50w w/ matching 2x12

I use the rig I plan on using when I play the next gig with that band. Isn't a full band rehearsal at stage volume levels the best opportunity to tweak your stage tone and "dry run" your overall setup?
