I am at three amps right now that give me three different tones. I have no interest in buying anything new but I fight the idea of selling one. The smart thing to do would be keep all three and play the one that fits my current mood. The reality is I feel weird having an amp that sits there untouched for periods of time. So I think I know exactly how you feel. Even when I am in the mood to play one of the other amps, there is usually one amp that I still go to playing most of the time. Is it worth having $$$ tied up for the few times I want the other amp. So I sell the amps and find myself buying something else or the same thing again down the road to fit that desire. The three amps I have right now I have owned each one in the past so I returned to the same three amps I owned liked and sold. When push comes to shove I think most of us have lost our minds, if I had one to begin with.

I've done that. I have 3 amps at the moment and absolutely no amp GAS. I do end up playing the latest acquisition more than the ones I've had for a while... occasionally, I have an impulse to sell the ones that are sitting around, but then I realize it would be a mistake.

That is why I am going to try to keep these three this time. If I really bothers me I might hide one in the closet so I am not looking at it maybe that will work

Now there's a thought. Hide it... :D
I was recently playing Bogner XTC which I came close to selling a couple times and I'm glad I didn't. It's a great amp! LOL! :D

Well I keep one cab and one amp at my practice space and rotate that around so that works for one amp. Its really nice to just grab my guitar and pedal board for practice. I only bring an amp with me if I swap them out. The other cab at home has the 2 amps sitting on it and that when I notice one amp sitting there for awhile. I was joking about the closet but it might actually work. If I kept one amp in the closet for a month or two and rotated my home amp and practice space amp. Then every few months switch the closet amp in the mix. It will be like buying a new amp. Hell I could even box it up and leave it on porch while I run to the gas station and come home and pretend I got it in the mail..... :scared: Ya I was right I never had a mind to begin with :D

LOL! :D

Now that's taking GAS to an extreme...

And today the CAA is the favorite...and so it goes.

The CAA is undoubtedly more versatile. At a 'default' kind of setting, the Classic Plus will punch you in the face and take your wallet. Not in a chug-chug way, but in an ACDC way.

But at the same time, with some dialing I was able to cop Myron's XTC Blue tones from the Bogner website, which are some of my all-time favorite clips.

Myron Cope has clips on the Bogner site??

Mike - Have you ever owned an XTC? I ran a stupid simple rig at a 'hired gun' gig last weekend - XTC, Bogner 4x12 cab, Boss DD20 in the loop, and a wah and TS9 that I modded in the front. It sounded so good I was just hitting chords and notes and letting the harmonics ring out... was awesome. My only issue with the XTC is getting a good volume bump for leads (I set the amp up with red channel a little louder for leads, used blue for dirty rhythms and such) but this amp is my 'keeper'.

Having said that, I think I'm going to take the Mesa Roadster with me to the gig friday and play it one set, but I'm bringing the XTC too. :)

I have never owned one. If for some reason the CAA and Naylor both don't stick, an XTC is a likely next choice. If it comes to that, I'm going to try and track one down to get some real quality time before buying even if it means a long drive. Getting kinda tired of racking up the UPS charges.

My reasons for not going with the XTC before the CAA are that I have a feeling I wouldn't have much use for Red (I'm running the gain on the CAA at 3 today, for example, and it's a much lower gain amp than the XTC. ) And I've kinda gotten addicted to the clean/edgy sounds of the Suhr amps and I'm afraid the clean of the XTC wouldn't stack up. Leaving me with one very, very expensive Blue channel.

I love the clean channel on the xtc, one of the best in a channel switcher IMHO.
