around how much would a mesa mark II combo go for? No reverb or 5 band eq. Has the original EV speaker.

Depends on revision pretty much, C+ being the most valuable, but there are also revisions A, B & C - do you know which one it is?

If you can get the serial number Boogie will tell you what revision they think it is - $650 is a good price whatever revision it is IMHO!

There are only changes between the drive channel over the course of the revisions (I think) and the clean channel for all the Mark II's I've played are fantastic (I've got a IIC and a IIC+ and have played a IIB extensively) - it would be worth the $650 for that alone, assuming it's in good condition :)

No played a IIA so I can't comment - although this is the revision that Keith Richards played!

The drive on the IIB's is not that fantastic IMO and Boogie were still experimenting extensively at this revision so you get some weird and wonderful things in this revision sometimes (cascode circuits and other odd ball stuff) and I don't think that Boogie are still doing the IIB -> IIC+ modification (as it requires a new preamp board). So if it's a IIB and you don't like the drive you might need to find a good tech to help you out to get to something that works.

A IIC sounds pretty good, and if you don't like the drive channel this can be modded to the same spec as a full blow IIC+.

The IIC+ is pretty much considered the holy grail of vintage boogie, if its one of those grab it ASAP!

Hope that helps!

$650 seems like a decent price these days, regardless of the revision. I haven't seen a Mark IIC, or even a Mark IIB sell for that little in a long time, so I would imagine it's a Mark IIA at that price.

Mike Bendinelli used to modify the Mark IIB to Mark IIC+ specs, but that ended quite a while ago. From what I remember, he required the Mark IIB to carry the same board as the Mark IIC+. Maybe post pictures up when you can.
