I have my Mesa Nomad 100 2x12 with the graphic EQ that I am thinking about selling. I don't know what to price it at. It's impossible to price like reverb or ebay because it's 90+ lbs and the shipping skews the price.

Its dead mint (literally) with one Mesa Black Shadow and one British Celestion vented T75. Brand new tubes, JJ E34L's in the power section various preamp tubes with a good blend. Footswitch is mint, reverb tank is good. Very clean. Smoke and pet free. It has been gigged, but you would never be able to tell, it is completely unscathed and unscarred. No bar funk smell, flawless tolex.

There aren't a ton of them around, but it's not like rare and extremely desirable.

Its going to be a feeler. I am not desperate for cash or to move it.

I'm wondering the same about my Multi-Watt Dual Rec.

My brother has the 55 watt Nomad head. He can't give it away.

In my experience, a lot of Mesa gear has poor resale value, not all, as the mark series and triple crown series seem to hold their value very well.

I've flipped a bunch of rectifiers in the past few years, and have never been able to pull more than $1K out of one, even in mint condition with a cover, and even then, it sat for a bit.

The nomads I've seen used in my area have all been for sale for $800 or less, and the ones towards the top of that price range sat for quite a while. Best to start high and be open to offers if you're not in a hurry get rid of it.

The Nomad just wasn't a very good amp, and not real desirable. My brother primarily used his as a power amp with a multi FX effects unit. The gain channels sucked. He's moved on to a '79 JMP and the Nomad is in a closet.

$800 would be wishful thinking. I've seen some as low as $450 get no bites, (including my brother's).

I have a near mint '94 Trem-O-Verb 2x12 combo that I've put up for sale a couple of times over the last few years. If you read around on boards like this and the Boogie Board, this amp is one of THE Best Mesas to have! But.....since it's a combo that weighs more than many cars on the road, nobody seems to want it. After dropping the price a couple of times, I've decided it's too good of an amp to give away super cheap ( even though I never use it).

This is why I've never bought a 5150 2x12. Clearly one of the best 5150's ever, but 85lbs. I see those cheap constantly. Nobody wants them because they're tanks! But, they kick serious ass, tone-wise.

I love my tremoverb head (rev f version i just learned), and I got it local for $500 silly deal. Never will it go anywhere.

I have made it sound a lot better with the E34L's and added the vented t75. It balanced it our nicely. Tube rolling helped a load too. I don't have much into it, as I sniped it within 20 minutes of the listing.

I will be putting clips up of it on the listing for sure if that even does anything.

If it doesn't go, it's fine, as it's a great low risk amp to gig. Loud, i just throw a boost in front and i can cover some solid ground.

Hell yea, $500 for a T-Verb head is a killer deal! That's absolutely a keeper.

I agree. I had a 5150 2x12 combo converted to a head and it sounded killer. Slightly different than the heads, kind of a mix of the mark I & II. Being biased warmer than the heads and running on 2 6l6s gives it a different feel.

The Nomad is a rather polarizing amp. People either like the Nomad or hate it. Not much in between. They did have some issues with them early on. Some are lemons, some are so-so, and some are actually keepers. The 100 (with its EQ) and the 45 (with is negative-feedback bypass switch and its use of EL-84s) seem to be the most desirable. The 55 doesn't seem to stand out much.

I actually went through several Nomads before I chanced upon mine (45 1x12). The others were okay, but nothing you would look forward to playing. Mine is definitely a keeper. It doesn't have the issues most people post concerning. And it is a blast to play.

All of that is to say the image of the Nomad is such most people may be concerned they would get one of the lemons. It may be worthwhile to consider a local sale - where the buyer can actually play through it themselves and see it is a keeper.

For reference, I paid $450 for mine (used), probably a decade or more ago.

I will only sell local. I paid $300. I have it open for trade on CL. I will keep it up for a bit and maybe I will snag a decent trade. If it doesn't go, I will keep it for a bit and try again. Mine has the negative feedback switch on all three channels and the EQ. The E34L's and the t75 made a solid improvement. I am honestly just running low on physical space at the moment. It's great to gig. Thank God it's on casters. I am hoping to snag a faded SG or a cheap prestige ibby, or a usa strat. I would be very happy if I got that even if I have to drop $50 - $100 bucks.
