Console Connect lets you use the MIO mixer as a plug-in inside your DAW. I use Logic 8, I just add the plug-in inside Logic and BAM! Then, you just route all of your channels via Firewire. I'm basically using the Metric Halo mixer in zero latency the box is doing all of the work, which isn't the case with the Logic mixer because the program is doing all of the work.
The 2D card with the +DSP license is really cool. There are about 16 different input characters that you can place all over the place to smooth out or dirty up the signal. It looks real good on the sound curves. I absolutely love the transformer character. There are other character models like a tube mics, soft saturation, FETs and a lot of other stuff. You can run all of this straight into Logic.
I haven't used any of the older versions of the Metric Halo stuff, but this thing is great for what it does and the cost.
oh ok..... you know, I don't use the MIO interface..... I mean....it's kind of hard for me to understand all that..........how do you use it? I only use the ULN-2 as my mic preamp/interface.....but I KNOW it does much more than that....help me out pls.![]()

and btw, I haven't gotten any e-mail![]()
PM me your e-mail address and I will forward it to you. Also, there are a bunch of tutorial videos on the MH website detailing the new mixer and all sorts of other stuff.
If I'm using Garageband, I just route straight into it from the MIO mixer. If I'm using Logic, I just use Console Connect and use the Metric Halo mixer instead of the Logic mixer. I do use some of the Logic plug-ins at the end of the signal, but that is mainly to get rid of this and that at the end.
I mainly like using the MIO mixer because of the input character modeling, but there is reverb, EQ, compression and just about anything else you can think of within the mixer with the 2D card and +DSP license. The amp simulations blow, but I think the vast majority of all of the software based amp simulations suck.

I have a Mackie Onyx 800R that I run every now and then via ADAT, but I need to sync it via the Wordclock.
As far as routing... It can get complicated. You just have to figure out how to route everything via Firewire, which is easy after it's all said and done. I say that, but I'm still trying to figure out certain things. The ULN-2 and the 2882 are complicated beasts.
Anyway, PM me.
