Hey guys. When I 1st turn on the amp everything is fine and about an hour later the head starts changing channels on it's own. I initially thought is was the footswitch cable so I got a new one. No difference.

Footswitch seems ok.

Thoughts? And thanks for any help.

Might be a bad LDR. thats all I cant think of that would suddenly start flipping out an hour later. take it to a tech or send it to boogie.

Light Dependent Resistor, also known as an optocoupler.
Rectos use them for switching, and they have been known to go bad and cause weird-ass issues like random channel switches, low channel volumes, and other bad crap.

There are something like a dozen, possibly more, in a Recto, and a lot of them are not easy to change out (in my Rackto, there's a spot where there are 3 stacked on top of each other - if LDR11 ever goes out, I'm fucked).
Time to take it to a tech.

Sorry.

I assume that's a pricey thing?

Should I call Mesa, tell them my problem to get their suggestions? Will they tell me whats wrong?
I assume they know exactly what this is...... :aww:
