Anyone out there have any experience with the PRS 408 models? I play within a rock/red dirt country band and the 408 looks like it could be right up my alley! I've been using a McCarty Trem and a Fender American Tele to cover my bases but when using the Tele I have to adjust for the lower output and I miss not having the trem bar to use. A couple of reviews I've read says the 408 can pull off a hot tele sound without losing output when switching from full humbucker to single coil.

It can definitely do the hot tele tone. The 408s split sound more P90ish but if you roll off the volume you can get passable tele or strat tones. The neck pickup isn't quite a meaty as a full humbucker but if you don't need that tone much you are probably okay. I used a 408 Korina in a 70s hard rock group and it did really well, didn't use the single coils much except to get some cleaner tones out of my single channel amp.
