What are the main differences?

The CE 22 has a bolt-on neck I believe...is that the main one? What about pickups?

Anyone own/owned a Custom22 want to share thoughts/experiences......got an opinion on a good, used price?

Depending on the year, the CE-22 will either have a Mahogany body or an Alder body as well. I'm not sure when they made the switch, it was Alder up until the mid 90's then Mahogany, then back to Alder in 2008 I believe. Pickups should be the same as an equivalent Custom 22 of the same year.

Love my CE 24! The only thing I would change on it would be the pups, one of these days. But really its the best feeling guitar I have had. stays in tune like a mofo

I've owned Cu22s, Cu24s, CE22 (maple board ftw!), and a McCarty korina.

I kept a Cu22 semihollow... wide fat neck, no trem. One thing you'll notice is that the Cu's are easier to find with options like birds, ten tops, etc... my preference is wide fat neck which isn't that fat, it's just comfy - and stoptail, since the PRS trem is worthless for floyd-style 80s madness.

CEs have a spankier tone, like most boltons - there is more of a snap to the attack, the Cu is creamier. The Cu22 is more les paulish IMHO than the CE, if that's what you're looking for.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you the CE22 is the "cheap version" of the CU22 just because it's bolt on. They're both excellent guitars.
