PRS identify help

Guy claims this is a CE he refinished in Matte. Never saw a CE with a headstock overlay like that, but only owned older 90 CE’s. Is it me or does this look fake?

That overlay is usually found on Modern Eagles. Not sure where he got it from.
Also, you can email PRS and give them the serial and they can tell you details about the guitar.

yikes. That one was rode hard and put away wet. Looks like a cu24 that they put a sticker or veneer on the headstock to mimic the modern eagle design. +1 for reaching out to PRS with the serial number, they'll tell you what it started its life as and original specs. Would make a great player if you could get it cheap.

Not enough from the pics to tell if it's fake, but there's a lot of butchery going on there. I wouldn't pay much for that thing.
