I've been posting regarding my ups and downs with my recently required SC245 Artist (mostly ups by far) and have come to the conclusion that the shorter scale length just isn't a good fit for me. This isn't a huge loss as I have all the bases covered with my USACG 'super Strat' and my '88 PRS Classic and could survive happily with just the PRS Classic Electric.

That said I started looking for something to do with the SC245 and decided to post it as available for trade requesting offers of any sort. I figured it would be up for a while and something would eventually catch my interest.

I received an offer about 2 hours later asking if I might be interested in a PRS Johnny Hiland. I can't believe this never occurred to me before now. I demo'd several of these when they were first introduced and I loved them! As is the case now I had no need for a new guitar then and so I made a mental note that I liked the JH sig model and moved on. I only have the SC245 because I was trading away an amp I was no longer using, had no need for any gear specifically, and was struck curious when I saw the SC245 posted FS/FT.

So now I'm trading a guitar I don't need for another guitar I don't need but one I'm familiar enough with to know that I'm going to dig it (assuming it's not a poor sounding example of a JH). This Hiland is a 10-top stained in translucent black and in new condition. I should have it in about a week or so. Pretty cool. :)

looks awsome, i played a hiland and it was pretty sweet.

Very cool score, I love the switching options in those and much prefer that type of switch to that godforsaken rotary switch

Indeed! I never cared for the rotary switch setup at all.

My favorite of all the PRS's ive tried. Now all they gotta do is move that blade switch up a little closer..
Does that have a swamp ash body..?

Congrats, nice looking axe. I saw the demo Johnny did when this came out and the amount of useful tones available is very impressive.

works for him

Sweet. I loved my PRS CE24. Had it for years before I sold it. Once I got my Roman I never played the PRS anymore. I really don't like to have multiple guitars. I'm a guitarist first and foremost, not a collector.

Yours looks sweet. Hopefully it will come out like your image.

It's mahogany with a maple cap.

Looks nice! I really liked the Hiland I had. Wish I still had that one. I swapped out the stock pickups with a Aldrich set.
