I am considering getting one of these and have a few questions:
1) can anyone compare body thickness to a lp axcess and lp standard?
2) does it get lp style tones?
3) anyone compare neck to a lp 50's or 60's neck?
4) how would you describe the stock pickups?
Thanks

I had one for a while:

1) can anyone compare body thickness to a lp axcess and lp standard? The body is thick, same as the original PRS singlecuts, the one i had was heavy too, around ten pounds.
2) does it get lp style tones? - mine sounded very thick and fat sounding, tons of power, but not the most versatile.
3) anyone compare neck to a lp 50's or 60's neck? The neck is a PRS wide/thin so definitely more 60s
4) how would you describe the stock pickups? - the bridge is super hot, very aggressive, good for riffing and heavy stuff, cleans up ok but not amazingly. The neck is the PRS 7, very soupy and warm, nice clean, mine got a little muddy at stage volume for leads
Thanks

i had one for over a year and it was a really nice guitar, moltisanti said what i was gonna say.

Thanks for the replies.
Any comparison of body thickness to an axcess or LP standard?

Are you looking a new one (The Tremonti II)? Those have Wide/Thin necks and a trem. The original Tremonti (available mostly in black or platinum, with a hardtail) had the Wide/Fat neck.

Body thickness seemed to be comparable to a LP Standard, but of course, like all PRS Singlecuts, it's made to be a bit more ergonomic than the LP. The Tremonti bridge pickup is pretty hot. It's one of the best high output pickups I've played, but realize it doesn't clean up as well as a PAF style will. The neck pickup is a Dragon I, which is very warm and gets nice clean tones.

1. Neck: Actually the original run of Tremonti II's had it's own neck profile...the Tremonti profile. It was a variation on the PRS Wide/Thin but a tad different. In fact this was the neck profile used on Mark's original customized single cuts. Whereas the original production Tremonti guitars that sold in stores used the Wide/Fat. When they redesigned the Tremonti into the II version...they then offered it with Marks personal neck profile they had been building all his custom guitars with. I prefer it it to the Wide/Thin or the Wide/Fat. Has a tad bit more beef than the traditional Wide/Thin. Great neck IMO...one of my favorites. I haven't played the new "pattern thin" profile on the newer Tremonti II's. Maybe it's the same thing with just a new "neck" name...I would hope so as the original Tremonti II necks are awesome.

2. Body: Almost as thick as a LP Standard. Not much difference really. They are thick guitars...much thicker than the acxess or your standard custom 24. Top isn't as carved at the standard LP...more ergonomic as someone else pointed out. All 22 frets are pretty easy to reach. Very comfortable guitar. More so than a LP imo.

3. Tone: IMO, no they don't sound like LP's. And I've had to work to get mine close as my main 2 guitars are Standards. Which is close enough. It has it's own vibe. Been through a few bridge pups to get there...stock neck pup and my fav bridge is the MCP Torque. It's in the ball park. Like most PRS's...it has it's own thing going on. Closest LP tones I've gotten out of PRS's is the 245's. Scale has alot to do with it. I personally think the Tremonti is the best SC from PRS and why I've stuck with them as opposed to the 245's. Although the new SC "Stripped" looks cool with the bridge and stop tail.

4. Stock pups...not a fan of the bridge, neck is very nice. As usual mileage will vary with everyone.
