Just thought I would post up my newest additions to my home studio. I am going through a big time high gain amp phase right now and digging it.
First off I realize I have more gear than anyone really needs and if I had the talent of someone like say "JB" on this board I could just buy a Line 6 Spider Valve and be done with it.
That said I have fun and its better than blowing my money on drugs I guess. (Although my wife might argue the drugs would be cheaper
)
Main Rig is a John Suhr Custom Audio Amplifiers OD-100 SE+ W/D/W system with a Mesa 2/100 power amp for the two wet cabs and a Eventide Eclipse for effects.
Also just got a Diezel Herbert which will be running through a Diezel 4x12 cab (en route now thanks mike) with a TC Electronics G system in the loop.
The ENGL is the flagship Special Edition EL-34 version and it does everything but make me dinner, holy cow I have never seen an amp with so many features before.
They all sound awesome in a different way, ENGL has insane amount of harmonics and gain but all useable.
The Diezel sounds like a Diezel which is a very good thing, you could cover just about everything with the Herbert and not need anything but a cord.
The CAA OD-100 SE+ rig is crazy versatile and sounds huge. Still having a bit of trouble getting it all wired and programmed but working on that today.
Of course the Mesa Road King II is a beast and sounds like a Rectifier, I find I need to run a boost in front of it thought to get the liquid lead tones I dig
This amp is the one for nailing all the new school tones like Nickelback, Three Doors Down etc..., the Trailer Trash board is on ebay getting ready to go to a new home.
The Soldano SLO-100 is a classic, awesome high gain tone that is heard on all of the 80's records in one form or another. Kind of a one trick pony but it is a damn good trick! Think George Lynch in the early days or Warren Demartini. Very good for the hair metal
and hell Clapton uses one so if I ever turn the gain knob down I guess it would be ok for blues
The Bogner 101B is very dark sounding and very "polite" distortion tones. A versatile amp but not quite "rude" enough for me if that makes any sense?
The plexi mode is the deal and can nail the Black Crowe's tones which are cranked vintage Marshalls. Clean is very good as well. If I was doing a fusion gig or a Santana type vibe it would be damn near perfect for that.
Anyway I know I like checking out other guys gear so I thought I would post up mine. Hope you dig the pics...
