I don't normally just jump into purchases (of any type) without doing extensive research and usually wait until a ton of people have already bought something. For some reason though, I've decided to buy a Friedman ASM-12.

Years ago before I picked up my AxeFX, Dave modded my Marshall with the BE Mod. This was when everything was starting to take off with his network of amps, cabs, etc. Even with as busy as he was, he still found time to talk to me on the phone and email. It is great seeing the JJ, S. Stevens, Buxom Betty, etc., etc. all taking off and getting awesome reviews!

I'm glad Dave has thrown his hat into the FRFR ring with the ASM-12 and I'm hoping I really like it. For those of us who have frequented this forum (and HC in the past), there has definitely been some drama with projects and companies that just couldn't get off the ground. It is refreshing to see that Dave and Co. have been able to successfully build a family of amplifiers that kick ass and keep expanding their line with more ideas.

I probably won't have the ASM-12 for a few weeks but I'll be sure to fill everyone in on how it compares with some of the other cabs I used with the Axefx in the past. BTW, there are a few riffs some guy did on Youtube playing thru the Friedman ASM-12.

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts when it arrives

Definitely looking forward to a review, this is top of my list next to the CLR.

I definitely will guys. I've been throwing so many options around in my head for years now and for some reason this one really spoke to me. :) I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Dave has created such great guitar cabs that his thought process is going to go into these as well. I know he is coming from a guitarists frame of mind in terms of what kind of tone to expect.

One other aspect is that I'm a hard rock and metal guy. With some of the other solutions I've looked into, it seemed like all of them were killer when playing clean or mid-gain stuff but folks seemed to be split when it came to the heavy stuff. I have no doubt that they probably used a heavier tone as the benchmark.

I don't know a lot about speakers, wood, and everything that goes into FRFR. All I know is that I just want a killer tone. :)

You will be very satisfied. A buddy tried one & his words were; "I'd probably choose an Atomic wedge for clean stuff, but the Friedman wins for dirty stuff. It seems like it's voiced for dirty sounds"

Very cool! Thanks man. :)

I gave in and bought one today - hopefully it'll be here by this weekend. Hoping to not be disappointed, as I'm rebuilding all my patches this weekend!

Awesome!! We'll have to both swap reviews once we have been able to give it a whirl. I don't know when to expect mine. I think they thought the end of this week which means I'll probably get it next week, but not sure.

Pretty excited. I know folks are trying to get lighter equipment these days but I'm hoping that wood adds low end, etc.

What do you guys think of the ASM-12?

Still love it man. Check out my review in another post here. Great, tight low end and great FRFR solution. I use a Fractal Axe-FX II and works great with it. When I'm playing the heavier hard rock/metal stuff, I like to use a very slight EQ cut in the mids but other than that, works great. Cleans sound really good as well.

I can't wait to order one! This is what I have been waiting for! Thnx to Dave for checking into my ordering issue.

My sales guy has heard nothing from the store..at all. Also all the stores should have pricing in there price list. Not sure who they are contacting. My sales guy will look into it Monday.

Thanks Dave! Store is The Guitar Shop in Port Credit Ontario. I've had had 2 calls into them. They told me that they emailed the rep and have not heard back. Canadian Thanksgiving holiday up here so they won't be open until Tuesday.

Again, many thanks for your help and support! Can't wait to own one!

Any other suggestions where I can order one from up here in my area?

Dave, Thanks again for looking into this, but there is no need any longer. I haven't heard from the store after 3 calls over three weeks. I won't be recommending them any further.

Sorry about that our sales rep said they never heard from them. Do you still want one? It can be arranged.

Dave, this is very much appreciated. I've decided to forego the modeller route as a deal on an amp and cab that I wanted for years now came into my lap. You make outstanding products and I hope to own one some day!
