I've been selling gear left and right to cover life's unexpected expenses, but I've also been saving all year to grab a Metropolous DVL-1!

I'm penciled in for #85. I should get it sometime this fall. Ordering it in the classic brushed gold faceplate ala Marshall and not the silver/different knob size design of the earlier signature versions.

George mentioned this serial number is exactly after Metallica's order which was interesting and pretty cool.

I've always wanted a more plexi-swiss army knife type of amplifier without needing to take an insurance policy out on one should it get stolen or go through the painstaking process of sourcing decent components to piece one together in a kit. Georges's amp has a ton of tonal coverage for the type of classic rock stuff I enjoy playing, and it will fill the gap for everything my 1974 cannot do.

I'm super stoked and have always dreamed of owning one of his amps, but they are rarer than hens teeth on the used market.

Any others who own one or have played a Metropolous?

Man I ordered a choke from them and took forever. Ended up canceling then it took ages to get my refund. Good luck
Noted! George made it very clear payment times are at customer discretion. No money due at any time whatsoever until it’s done. I waited 1.5 years for a custom ESP order, so I’m pretty patient.

That's great. I ordered the choke during the onset of the pandemic so everything was screwed up then not just with them.

George is great when taking your money but service after the fact sucks! I REALLY wanted a DVL and had funds in hand. After what he pulled with my 12k series I would never give him a dime! Just make sure you dont give him any funds until its ready to ship. I dont do Facebook but emailed him and called countless times...2 weeks to respond. Thats a sweet amp though... I'm jealous!! LOL

Keep it that way. I have always been a great supporter of George and his customer service was always the best for years but I have read that recently his business has fallen into a bad state and supposedly some people were getting stiffed on delivery of products.

I hope this is not the case but the broken supply chains have strangled small businesses this past year. I hope George is rebuilding because I have always thought the best of him but I would proceed with caution about any kind of prepayments. If he doesn't have product ready to sell I would abstain for now.

If he has turned the ship around that would be great news and George deserves great success.

The Metroplex is a monster and I imagine the Duvall Metroplex is just as good. Good Luck, I hope it works out for both of your sakes....

Yeah that is the screaming outlier nowdays - he's much better about responding on social media than he is through email or through phone calls. It seems he can initiate contact to avoid confrontation easier through social media than he can through email or phone.

I will not put a cent towards a wire transfer until he can send a picture with the serial number as a completed amplifier ready to ship to my address. Thanks for the heads up guys! I know the 68 mode in the Duvall is the same as the 68 in the metroplex, the only difference being the power supply is beefed up considerably in the Duvall compared to the metroplex, leaning less to that edge of breakup ghost note plexi ordeal, and more solid low end response.

Well guys, after much deliberation and thought, I canceled my DVL-1 order…..

Because I now have Metroplex #001 inbound
I’ll make a proper new thread when the time is right, I want to finish my Marshall first.

Wow! that might be collectable one day. Congrats man! I think the Metroplex is one of the best sounding new production plexi style amps out there if you are into plexi's. I think you should be able to get all the tones of the DVL model IMHO!

Interested in your thoughts when you get it........:2thumbsup:

The guy that sold it is the original owner and suffered a traumatic left hand injury from a broken glass bulb shattering in his hand. Said he had a ton of other gear and reached out to me when he saw I had an ad up looking for one while I waited for my place in line for a DVL-1. I do plan to put together an image book and create a paper trail for the amp since they’re already collector level as you can’t order one anymore.

I really only wanted 68 mode of the DVL, but I liked the ghost note character and cocked mid emphasis of the metroplex clips over the DVL. I lucked out and had cash in hand to make it happen - I can’t wait to do some recordings for everyone. I definitely won’t be letting it go anytime soon - I’d sell guitars before that goes on the chopping block.

Awesome man!!!! I had a metroplex in white and it was cool. I ended up trading it, but wished I would have kept it!!

On a side note, I saw a DVL1 for sale here or the gear page within the past few days.
