Putting 52mm Saddles on 54mm Bridge

I want to put Graph Tech Classic Saddle String Savers on my 54mm bridge, but they only make them in 52mm and 55mm. My luthier said 55mm may be too wide and ruin the feel of my guitar, and 52mm would be more than fine, it just may look a bit wonky, but I don't care how it looks. As long as it plays great and my strings stop breaking.

Thoughts? Will it work ok? Anyone done this before?

No idea if they will work, it seems as though it should. Buy them from some place with a return policy and find out. Amazon has some, they list the size in inches not mm. I know they have free returns in most cases.
