Who has played or owned? Thoughts? What did you like, what did you dislike? What sort of musical ground do they cover or specifically excel at?
I've always been intrigued by these. They sound great in almost every clip I've heard.

There's one at GC Scottsdale AZ. Its been there awhile. Price dropped to $1600. I played through it a couple times. Sounded alright, nothing too special to my ears . YMMV

there are some bitchin clips of doug e rapps playing one killing it!

I owned an EH2. Modded Marshall with Bogner chewiness and Fenderish clean. Underated amp and Ted is a very responsive builder

Old review, share with you..

I have both SLO for 10 years and PWE EH3 for about 4 years, now I played more EH3 than SLO, below are the advantages I thought of this amp:
1. Great master, great for practice at room level, but can also be ridiculous loud.
2. Awesome clean, can be sparkle clean or fatter sound like Marshall, fast attack finger response.
3. Each ch has individual 4 types frequency switch, for OD can sound really solid, but also can make it has slightly shimmy effect on the top end.
4. I have to said the 2CH can easily compete with SLO's lead ch, but more fun and more articulate sounding than SLO. You will experience similar vide while playing both amp together, they both react direct, in your face with really organic feel, you can hear every stings ringing clearly when strummimg.
5. Very juicy 3ch, bit darker than 2ch but great for soloing, sustaining singing tone.

If you cant get the good sound out of EH3, probably because at the rear panel there is a secret "Decelerator" which you should look at into it more detail. When you turn it all the way down, it act like a Marshall type plexi sort of sounds, narrow, tight, quick response of how you play. But once you slowly turn it way up, the amp opens. It gets bit lazy, like sitting back, you will feel the amp starting to fill up with energy, but at the same time you might lose the immediate react of the finger-string feel. The tone will be fully exploded, fatter low end, standing out mid frequency, you will need some time to find the best spot for your playing condition.

Great tone with awesome feel, really fun to pay, super underrated amp brand.

I have one. It's excellent. Fender clean, Marshall lead, goes very high gain if you need it. The amp just sings. really excellent.

I got my EH3 delivered straight from Ted last November and have since also gotten a new band and a new practice room and a new 4x12 cab so it's been a busy time with the amp... And I'm finding new tones in the EH3 every time I play the amp! The EQ and the power section controls on the back of the amp give a ton of options on how to dial in the sound and I have to be honest that I don't think I have yet "mastered" it completely. But it is safe to say I am rather happy with this amp! :D

This particular EH3 was fine-tuned by Ted after my request to make sure CH2 can go as heavy as I would need so according to Ted the gain switch on CH2 goes from a lower gain level (still plenty of gain, especially if maxed out!) to making the channel essentially same as CH3. Unfortunately I have never played the earlier versions of the EH3 so I couldn't compare the difference of the higher gain side of CH2 but this is a direct quote from Ted on the channel:
Lower gain on Channel 2 has quite a wide range actually. From some Keith Richards type grit up to AC/DC. In higher gain mode you still have quite a range over the sweep of the gain pot. This new design make the amp very, very versatile. I’m going to use it on all EH3’s going forward.

This has been my setup the last few times at the practice room although I came to the conclusion earlier this week that the OX is not really needed there right now since I can open up the amp rather loud when I want to and using the Decelerator and Feedback controls at the back help tame and change the feel of the amp for lower levels.

I managed to get some time to mic up the H&K CC412 V30 cab with a SM57 to do a test clip too. It's been a LONG time since I did any mic'd up recordings of my own and was spending quite a bit of time on trying to capture the sound of the amp as I want to hear it recorded but overall I'm quite happy for a super quick test. This is the higher gain side of Channel 2 (essentially same as Channel 3 according to Ted) with the gain around 10-11 o'clock, mids a tiny bit before noon, treble and bass a bit past noon and Decelerator set pretty much at full power and Feedback maybe around noon or slightly past that. The short bit of lead was Ch3 with a lot more mids and bass and a bit of delay from the DAW. Now it's nothing fancy (and I think also a bit sloppy) but at least it's something! :)

I have always wanted to try an EH3. Man I dug the LED logo they used to have.
