Just a quick question, I know in theory since the neck pickup is pushed further back to make room for the extra frets that the neck technically isn't "longer" in terms of distance from the bridge to the nut... but all the photos i've seen the necks just look so stretched out, like a baritone almost....

My question is do these guitars feel "stretched out" at all? Or do they play like an other 25.5 scale guitar?

My reason for asking is I am just so super comfortable with 25" and 25.5" scale guitars, I don't want something that feels like I'm playing a damned bass...

Any input would be great, thanks fellas!

i am sure there will be a difference. I know for me there is a psychological difference when playing a 22 fret guitar and a 24 fret guitar. Even though they are the same scale leangth the instrument feels longer. I am sure it is a similar experience.

This is what I'm worried about... and I'm freely willing to admit that the difference may be purely psychological... but if other people have had this experience with them I'd love to get their feedback...

Just a heads up. Don't try and order a new one. Dude went AWOL.

Yea I heard, read the whole Facebook posts by his wife and everything... that isn't the situation, but I definitely appreciate you lookin' out regardless

its a comfort thing for me. I stick with the 22 fret guitars for the most party these days because they hang differently and they dont feel "long" plus i get that neck tone i like i just have to work a little harder in the upper register. do you feel like your missing something in a 24 fret guitar?

I actually play 22 fret PRS guitars... I feel fine on a 25.5 scale though... I have played a custom 24... I purposely had my buddy hand me the two back and forth blindfolded and couldn't tell a difference, so it's def a mental thing... I honestly don't need the extra frets at all... meaning the 24th-27th... but i've found myself needing 24 recently.... reason for purchasing is I'm doing a SHITload more soloing in my new band, and need something a little "shreddier"... and have an opportunity to pick up a 6 string Jekyll...

For the record I know there will be a difference... what I'm basically asking is not if there will be a difference from my current main axe, because there obviously will... I'm curious if they feel any different from other 25.5 scale guitars...

Ah ok cool, yeah i didnt want anyone else to end up scammed out of thousands of dollars. A few good friends of mine had some guitars on order before he decided to go missing

I have two 27fretters that are 25.5 in scale length.
Doesn't bother me at all and does not feel longer.
Only thing that took adjusting to on them was the lack of fretboard markers.

Shouldn't feel longer at all. I owned a 6 string, 27 fret Jekyll next to my PRSi for a while...could switch between them no problem. Also, the Rico design makes access to the 24th fret SUPER easy. He's clearly going through trouble and being pulling some shady business practices, but he used to build great guitars. Make sure the guitar you're looking at is well built, and jump on it if it is!
