Koko works well as the mid bood side really adds some cool almost cocked wah tone for lead playing
there will also be the Mk 4:23 Boost guys saying that's the way to go - I haven't tried that yet but you can't go wrong with either the Koko or Mk 4:23

Clean boost used in the loop is the only way, anything in front of the amp is only going to increase the gain/distortion, not the overall level/volume you want for your solos. I have used both Suhr Iso boost and Mark 4:23 with excellent success.

This. You get an ever so slight volume boost in front of the amp but it won't make that much of a diff and it will just saturate more. In the loop is where you want it. At that point, any decent boost (those you mentioned) will be in the ball park of the others and all will provide you with what you want which is the volume boost.

This will do exactly what you want, :https://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/electro-harmonix-nano-lpb-1-power-booster-guitar-effects-pedal

It must run in the loop though if you want a volume boost. This goes for any pedal as mentioned by others. Dont waste your time trying to get a volume boost for solos with a pedal infront of the amp, its not going to cut it. This pedal works for what you want to do and is cheap. Now if you need something with rue bypass you might have to drop the coin on a more expensive pedal. This used to work great for me with a 5150 , I would have it always on waiting for me to hit the effects loop on button on the footswitch for the 5150. That way I had a sort of true bypass already.

You could also just have a volume drop box made to put in the loop by a tech similar to what Mark Day runs (or ran). Basically, it's just another passive volume control that cuts the volume when you're playing rhythm, but you remove from the chain to play lead, restoring your front panel master volume setting.

Could also look at the Gilbert Detox to tame the lead channel into a rhythm channel & kick it off for boost

I like the EQ in the loop option the most for what you want. It gives you the flexibility to accentuate or tame specific frequencies as well as a volume boost.

Like they said placement in loop is the only way. That way you get a predetermined volume boost right before the poweramp section return→poweramp input, where your overall volume is produced. Ive tried a bunch and the best one ended up being the MXR/CAE one. The line booster. Works perfect, its made well and doesnt cost much. The koko boost worked well too but it was overkill because I never used the mid boost side.

Depending on the amount of gain you use, it would make no difference, volume-wise.
I run a TS-9 in front of my RD50 (Fortin modded, same preamp as the 45), it does´t get any louder when I stomp on it, it just makes the attack more audible. Put the volume increaser in the loop, and make it simple. You don´t need a "boost", in the sense that most guys here use it (tighten up the attack/increase preamp gain a little). Get an EQ pedal, like someone else said, and either keep it on with sliders down, and use it as your rhythm sound, or push up the mids and level, and use it as your solo sound. The Diavlo has LOTS of mids on tap, so any way should be fine :)

I have looked at all the above.. one that I found on the cheap..

electro harmonix LPB1 ..

thoughts ?

Thats the one I suggested...Listen truth is its cheap, Will it be the most transparent and have true bypass, I dont think so. The other guitarist in my last band used one with his 5150, it worked perfectly with that amp because you can also turn the loop on and off via footswitch. So with the loop off it didnt matter if it sucked any tone because it was taken out of the equation.

Now If you have the LPB1 in your loop and the loop is always on, even with the pedal off it may color your tone a little because I dont think its true bypass.... The MXR pedal is probably made better and will sound a bit cleaner. Both pedals will do what you want though it comes down to how much you want to spend.
