Just picked up a Torpedo Live based off some pretty convincing forum chatter...

Can anyone with experience chime in on whether or not the Torpedo Live's load input can safely handle the VH4's wattage? I typically set my preamp volume anywhere between 1:00-3:00 and master between 9:00-11:00. I'm just a bit worried about screwing this up. :lol: :LOL:

Yeah you are good to go! After 2:00 you are pushing limits (but don't crank the vh4 to max tho)

Download the torpedo live remote for free from Two notes to make it simpler to fine tune cabs and mics etc.

If you are going to be using this at 3 in the morning through headphones then you be best to buy a decent headphones (pointless playing a £2500 amp and cooking its tubes through a £700 Two notes then out through a headphones worth £10!)
Handy bit of kit this Torpedo.. save alot of setting up time with cab and trying to mic up and set levels etc etc.

Is the phones output properly stereo and sounds good? Any recommendations for wireless headphones for that? Because a lot of them suck... :(

I have been using it for a couple months now, and with two gigs under its belt - with the D-Moll and the Two Notes Live. Both gigs and a shit ton of practice without a cab. I run the amp around noon on the masters, so you will be fine on the VH4 as well. No need to push the limits though. Set the TNTL around -6dB at max input and adjust the output level to where it is comfortable in your monitors.

For headphones, I use my Shure 435's that I used for IEM's.

As for cab IR's in the TNTL, I use the stock British 30 cab and set the EQ just a bit and move the mic placement off center with the SM57 IR.

Awesome--thanks so very much!

I've tried all three Bogner pedals through it with some very impressive results so far. Really wishing I would of tried one of these out a while ago!

I tried the TNTL with my Westone UM-2's with it this afternoon--sounded great with just a couple of Bogner pedals direct in so far.

Stoked to try it with the VH4--thanks for the help!

It's actually dual mono, meaning that left and right channels are the same.

For the headphones I would recommend, if it exists, ones with a transmitter with a S/PDIF input to avoid a D/A and an A/D conversions.

@Brickford : I see you like the Live ;)
