When dialing in your live tone at home, which output should I trust to be what my tone will sound like at foh?

What I mean is I can dial in a profile that sounds great when recording direct via spdif.... But that same exact profile sounds boomier when sending out the mains to a pair of dxr10's. I know having the monitors on the floor give it fatter, bassier, sounds...but I find myself dialing back the low end on the profile to make it sound good to my ears.

Doing that means that the tone that I'd be sending to the FOH is no longer the tone dialed in that sounds good in recordings. Should I just leave that tone alone and know that what I am sending the foh is exactly what I hear in my recordings?

In a real gig scenario I'd have the Dxr10's plugged into the monitor output of the kemper .... I plugged them into the main output to see what it would sound like at the foh.

I'm think my dxr10's are coloring my profiles tone and that I shouldn't mess with the profile and that I should use my studio monitors to dial in my profiles?

Also, how do I disconnect the mains output from the volume so that when I raise or lower the monitor volume it doesn't affect the volume being sent to the foh?

You can use any output, they all have the same signal if so desired.

You can eq the main output or the monitor output separetely with their own eq.

The DXR's may color your tone somewhat, but I wouldn't be too concerned about that, as you can eq the "boominess" out with the Kemper's monitor out eq. Trust your ears with the recorded profile, and keep in mind the tone will change a bit as well depending on your FOH .

Look under the "Master" button menu, IIRC there you can disconnect the volume/assign them to whichever output you want.

I hope this makes any sense & helps :)

I would say use the DXr10 to dial in your FOH tone rather than the studio monitors.

A sound engineer is going to eq to fit the mix anyway so a little boom shouldn't be a problem for them to dial out as long as the core tone is one you're happy with.
