As those of you who've suffered through my various clips know, my main amp is a Trace Elliot Speed Twin 50 watt head. It's one of the later models in the series, so it has 8-pin DIN connectors for a five button, non-latching footswitch to control channel switching, boost in/out, dual master volume switching, fx loop in/out, and reverb in/out. JerryP was kind enough to build me just such a footswitch after I got the amp ~ thanks again, Jerry!
Now, the thing is, these 8-pin jacks are not MIDI connections... BUT, the owner's manual states the following:
So, what I've gotten to wondering is ... what sort of switching device(s) is (are) out there that I could use to MIDI-fy my rig?
Thanks for y'all's help with my MIDI-noobitry.

(P.S. It was Kage's updated rig pics that really got me thinking about this!

Now, the thing is, these 8-pin jacks are not MIDI connections... BUT, the owner's manual states the following:
These sockets may also be used to connect the SPEED TWIN to an external (MIDI) switching unit with an appropriate lead dependant on the particular device used. Bear in mind that the SPEED TWIN internal switching is designed to respond to momentary (non-latching) switching and that the external switching unit should be set for this.
