Picked up a set of BKP The Mule for my old Tokai LP and am REALLY digging them. Just recorded a quick clip with the Mule set straight into the 68 plexi. Plexi all maxed, master at 8, hotplate at -12db (still FUCKING LOUD!!), greenback 4x12.

Nice clip!! Man I have got to get some BKs! Great vintage tone!! Both pickups Mules??

Sounds really really great Yoeri. Classic tones in spades

So the hotplate does sound good on the stronger attenuation settings. How loud was it still in the room at -12dB?

I had a Weber Mass once but didn't like it, but guess I should give it another go with your HP.

Yes, standard Mule set, the neck pickup sounds sweet and has no mud at all. The bridge crunches like there's no tomorrow.

Yes, it does sound great. The problem is that some people expect you can add something to your signal path without impacting your tone. They are idiots. Everything has an impact. If you think you can get the same tone at bedroom volume compared to a 100w at full tilt, you have no clue. For 1 thing, there's the speakers that impact the tone. Secondly, your ears will perceive a change in tone depending on the volume.

The end result is what matters. Hook up the Hotplate and find your sound and don't look at the dials, just use your ears.
