Hey all. I have been playing around with the Plexi mode on the Blue channel the last two days and have been loving the tones. I am not used to playing with this little gain but it is so much fun. You can really hear the dynamics of the playing and guitar this way. I did give it a bot of a clean boost with my BB Preamp.

The right side (drop D) was recorded with Anderson Bulldog. The Left side and lead was my Anderson Classic. Hope you like Pearl Jam this time around!

NICELY done man!! Ya, that X is money...

Really juicy, chewy and tasty tonez m'man :2thumbsup: :rawk:

That was great man. Really clear; all the little nuances came through.

Killer, again I don't think i ever had that amp sounding that good when I owned it! You shouldnt sell that amp, you sound great thru that thing!

No hijack here, but just for the record - I'm never selling my EL34 20thA Ecstasy. Ever.

I'm really happy to know the OP is loving his amp. These are masterpiece amps

Sounding fantastic. What are you getting if you sell the XTC may I ask?

Thanks all! I will say this is one of the best amps I have ever owned/played. For where I am at as a player these days it is just fantastic. I definitely feel like I have more of my own voice going on through the amp.

Why am selling, I have given myself a strict gear budget. I spend all of my playing time in my house/office. I haven't played out in 18 years. I would love to but it isn't feasible with all of my responsibilities. I have been wanting a Kemper for a while and think it would fit the bill. I would love to have both but struggling with figuring out how to do it. Again, it isn't a matter of affording it but if I make an exception here I have to make them elsewhere. I need to be disciplined in all aspects of my life. I could always profile the XTC.

I will say that the Plexi mode has made me pause for a bit. I loved the higher gain modes already but this mode allows my playing and guitars to breathe which is really cool. The dynamics are just killer. This is a hard place to be in. I wish I could figure out a way to have both. We shall see.

If I may...

Technology with respect to profilers and modelers is going to continue to evolve and grow. Today's ticket will be tomorrow's junk, humbly speaking. You know, there's something special about having "the amp" that makes you happy - gives you the tones you want - and allows you to play the way you want. If it's inspiring, it's not worth giving up.

I've got an Axe-II, and while it's definitely allowed me to play more often at night and record and do all its lovely things - I find I'm looking for patches or presets that mimic the same heads/cabs I have. It's not as though it's given me this vast array of options which I use like a platinum amex in a whorehouse; I sit there 90% of the time trying to get what my amps already give me.

Not trying to dissuade you here, but there's a reason these technological boxes come out, sell strong, then drop in price over time; and there's a reason most of the classic, top sounding amps are usually hard to find, more expensive, or increase in value. If I sell my Axe-II, ya, it'd be gone but I know in 2 years from now, I could buy it back for a fraction of the price, or pay top-drawer for the latest/greatest box that'll be out then. If I sold my 20thA, I'd never be guaranteed I'd get it back...

Peace

The cool part of being a responsible adult, is knowing when it's ok to bend the rules :D

Sounds great, as usual, Chad
