I recorded this straight out of the JJ Jr. using the XLR with built-in cab sim. On some of the riffs I used a touch of reverb but most were dry. I didn't put much into the playing and just trying to give an idea of the different tones available by adjusting the mid knob. You can cover a lot of ground and this is without adjusting the presence or treble to compensate. Like I mentioned before, usable around the dial.

For the part where I clean up the playing, I did not touch the volume control at all and that is just me picking really light. I was surprised how easily it cleaned up with the gain that high!

0:00-0:09 - Mids dimed, Gain 3 o'clock
0:10-0:25 - Mids and Gain at 3 o'clock
0:26-0:47 - Mids Noon, Gain 3 o'clock
0:48-1:20 - Mids 9 o'clock, Gain dimed
1:21-End - Mids at zero, Gain dimed

Sounded cool man! What did you record into?

That was just into Reaper. If I remember right that is the "Edge" setting? Might be wrong about that though. Both are great.

That was really cool man. I'm a death metal guy mostly but I do appreciate mids and never really liked the completely scooped sound. I probably use more mids than a lot of people but this clip sounded better and better with each section.

The less mids, the more I liked. Until the very end when you play the sod riff, that seems to be where the threshold would be for my tastes as in way to scooped but at :30 and the one after it sounded great.

I'm with you man. I could have probably adjusted the treble and presence to compensate a bit but all the way down was a tad too scooped. To be honest though, even all the way down it doesn't sound like most amps with the mid scooped. When I have dropped the mids on other amps, it is like the whole character of the amp disappeared. With this one, it is definitely still usable.

I really liked it at the 9 o'clock position and if you have seen Doug Rappaport's video about the JJ Jr., that is where his is set at. Alot of people say "dial with your ears" and definitely true with this amp. With that said, mids up at 3 o'clock can do a great classic rock tone!
