Sounds really good!

What recording set up are you using, hardware, software, etc?
RG1527 -->
Titan -->
Mojo 4x12 w/Vet30s -->
SM57 mixed with 609e -->
Sonar Power Studio which consists of a Sonar labeled Edirol 2-channel interface and some version of Sonar.

I'm about ready to put together my first recording rig, and I've never done any real recording before. Every has said I should get a Shure 57 to mic my cab, but I see some guys getting great results, like you, by using both a 57 and a 609e as well.

I have one 2x12 cab. Could I place the 57 on one speaker and the 609e on the other and record them together at the same time? :confused:

OK, where about do you place the mic relative to each speaker?

I took some pics of the amp the other day and I'm showing some pics which sort of show how I have my mics. The 609e is usually facing straight into the cab so the end of the mic is about 1/2 to 1" from the end of the speaker. The sm57 goes in at an angle into the cab, but directly at the cone and is pointed near where the cone meets the dustcover. I usually keep the 609e about 2mm off the grill. The sm57 is usually about an inch off the grill but that's something you're going to have to play with to make sure the two mics are not out of phase.

One thing I love about everyone's clips, besides hearing the amps, is the wacky shit everyone comes up with. Very cool stuff and I dug the tone a lot! :rock:
