Copied from the video description:
Quick tone test of the single rec. Signal chain is my Ibanez Artcore into a Digitech Bad Monkey. Dano Fish n' Chips EQ in the loop. Cab is my Avatar Contemporary 1X12 with a Vet30 speaker. The amp was dialed in for my Les Paul, but I broke a string right before recording, so I switched to the semi-hollow. Not the best sound, but good for metal on a semi-hollow guitar! Recorded with iPhone 4.

i can definately hear some string noise - you do know that the rectifier series is just like 5150's in the fact that they dont sound anywhere near as good as they should until you're moving air with the speakers correct?

tone wise it does sound a little more raspy than the single i remember playing through although that could be anything from the recording method to settings to speaker to who knows.

have you had the chance to open the amplifier up volume wise in a band situation yet? if so what did you think?

personally i like the single rec's after getting the chance to play one. they definately have their place :)

Oh it sounds much better when I open it up a bit more. That's why I recorded it at such a low volume. Sounds pretty good here, sounds even better when I open it up.

Like I said, it's not dialed in for this guitar. The thin, semi-hollow all maple guitar sounds a LOT different than the big thick 10 lb.Mahogany Les Paul, hahaha

thats good - yeah i do agree the rec's are a little touchy and the most diverse setting type amplifier i have ever ran across. most of the people i run into that have 5150's have very simillar settings that everyone falls under, and i have yet to see the same 2-3 correlations in reference to rectifiers today.

thanks for sharing!

The video was going to be longer, and with some lead parts, and then I sneezed at the end   Allergies have been a bitch the last few weeks.

Sounds pretty good for a low volume recording! I hope you're liking the amp. It sucks when people dismiss rectos as a shitty sounding amp before really spending time with them and swapping some glass. Try EL34's/KT77's and you'll be floored.

I can't :( No bias switch on the series I rectos

it would sound better if you send to pete and get the dirty pirate hooker mod.

Oh my bad. Well in that case, call Eurotubes and have them set you up with some really hot 6l6's and I guarantee you'll still hear an improvement! But it does sound pretty good as is.

Man.... that is just plain wrong. The NOS EL34's I put in my old Rec gave it a dose of growl that was not heavy on fizz....

I will probably just put those two old Teslas in the Ceriatone Kit I will be building. They should work good.

Nice vid though. Keep at it, as the old saying goes, Rome was not built in a day, but rather by ruthlessly wiping out all that opposed them...

Heritage,
I'm so sorry for not getting back to you about those tubes. I've been sick and busy with the band every damn day. I really wanted to pick them up, but I can't use them with the Single Rec. I wonder if Jerry would put in an external bowl switch?

What's the plate voltage needed for 6v6's? Curious to try that now that I can go with the Els/or the 77's.

Crank it up!
Higher volume clips later this week, when I'm hopefully feeling better, not sneezing and blowing my nose every 5 minutes, hah.

Sounded good to me. Sounds like a single rec. You said you were having problems with it in another post?

God damn midwest allergies have been killing me too the last couple weeks

Eh, just finding good tone. I'm getting closer.

Is there a really light airy flanger effect on that guitar tone? I can hear something swooshing in the background.
