Hi already tried a few but still in the search for one . I use amps with series fx loop and found some delay units suck the bottom end out my set up , all I want to use is a little delay and maybe reverb , but need something midi .
I'm using a timefactor at the minute ,, it's pretty good but its made to be a stomp box and if I have to will get a rack draw if all else fails .

I have tried the g major 1 and 2
Roland sde 2000
Tc g system

I'm interested in opinions on digitech gsp 1101 / tc g force ,,nobody seems to say if its better than g major , not bothered about fx quality just want to know if it sucks tone in loop / eventide eclipse ( slow patch changes and expensive ) fractal axe fx1/2 ( expensive ) but can it be used as a good fx system in an amp ? .

Cheers

Not a rack delay, but the Hardwire DL-8 delay is super warm sounding and doesn't rob the low end at all :) Ditched my racks for it!

g force is nice but still a bit pricey.
Lexicon mpx-1, TC Dtwo, Line 6 echo pro are decent options also

Tc 2290 is my favorite...always come back to it after trying something else.

Thanks guys , will check some of those suggestions , though I do need a midi unit for changing delays .

So are yours saying you like these delays because of the delay quality or the lack of tone suckage in the fx loop ?

Me?

Quality of delay. Plus no tone suckle, or at least I like the way a 2290 changes the tone. If tone suckage is an issue just run parallel. ;)

The Rocktron multi-effects are all good: Intellifex, Replifex, xPression. Can be had for little dough.

2290 is as good as it gets!!

This!!

Had 2 of these for a little while, but down to one. Love it, over and over.

Korg DL8000R is killer sounding!

+1

Super hard to find though. I wanted one of these first but could never come across one. I ended up going for a Damage Control Timeline and love it as it has strum tempo and 8 midi programmable storage options + built in reverb. I do not regret it at all, however the korg is on the same level of capabilities but without the tube buffered input/outputs

TC2290

Or the Afx II :scared: But I would prefer the 2290. Also amp slave line out to delay to power amp

In all fairness, there will ALWAYS be some tone suckage happening if you use a Series FX Loop. No way around that one. In a Series Loop, some FX units might do that in a more pleasant sounding way than others. But the fact is there's always a tonal change, and that can either good or bad depending on the FX unit you're using.

Best way to get around the issue is to just run a Line Mixer in the amp's FX Loop, which essentially makes it a Parallel FX Loop. So your effects will be blended in as a side chain to the dry signal. Then you can run pretty much any FX unit without it sucking any of the amp's tone  It's a much better sounding way of running effects IMO. You'll cut through better in the mix and you won't have to mess around trying to find a Delay that doesn't screw with the tone!
