Here's a quick video of the 3 channel 5150 rack mount amp I just finished up. Nothing too crazy, not very inspired to play. Just showing the operation of the 3 channels.

Ok, that's COOL! Just checked your site, I'm very tempted! Damn low paying job! :D

You must be thanking the Lord now that you finished that one

What do you mean? Is this a hard conversion, or was it this specific amp that was problematic?

Moar details please...
Here's what he said in his section

What you're looking at is the biggest pain in the as job I ever took on! I've been working on that for 2 years for a customer and it's been a real learning experience. My customer wanted me to convert his 5150 to a rack mount amp. I didn't want to do a hack job because my name is on it so I've ending up spending a fortune with fab shops and printers to get it worked out. He's been VERY patient and understanding with it. It's been a side project that gets worked on when I have time between other work. My work in the shop here has more than doubled since last year and I still work alone so free time is tough to find now so I need to get it wrapped up soon.
This is a rack mount 3 channel 5150, complete amp preamp and power amp. It's been modded with my clarity mod + and some other tweaks for metal tones. I hope to have it up and running within the month. I've had the parts for 4 more made so I'll be offer a limited run of these. If there's enough demand I may have more parts made up.

What is that? a 6 space rack? dang...

Yeah, it's big. It's 5 spaces. The customer I built it for had a large rack so the size wasn't an issue for him.

Rackmount stuff is cool. Got the Mercurys in it?

No Mercury stuff. Transformers are stock. It does have a choke added.

had to print off your own negatives? cant imagine the time strain :scared:

what program did you use jerry?

I don't get it

why not just put a regular 5150 in a case like this?

seems a hell of a lot easier and gives the same result
only difference is it's a few inches wider

A few reasons: Much easier to get standard cases than custom cases. Much smaller in a truck or plane which means a lot of $ for touring bands. I find it much more secured racked than sitting in foam - which traps heat and adds weight. Mucher cooler looking too. ;)

But maybe just too see if it can be done.

Would have been easier for sure, but that's not what the customer wanted.
