Rakuten????

My girlfriend was recently checking out Rakuten to buy an electronic dictionary that does Engligh - Japanese - Spanish. It seemed pretty legit. I did find a website saying that it was a legitimate site and if I remember correctly it said it's Japan's #1 shopping website? The problem she ran into was that they won't ship everywhere so to get around that you have to basically hire a middleman. I think they have info on the site to use a service called tenso.com. She never ended up ordering it since it seemed as though she could only pay with bank transfer? I'm not 100% sure on that, but she had her college Japanese professor trying to help her through the order process and that was the conclusion she came to. Good luck

Thanks.I guess some stores on that website prefer wire transfer, some take paypal, visa etc.
I know what your saying though. It's just going to suck if i have to pay a middle man, more
money for nothing.
I want an Edwards guitar, and i haven't seen one on ebay so my search is ongoing.

ishibashi on Ebay, or www.ikebe-gakki.com
Ikebe only accepts transfer, but I`ve read about lots of people ordering from them. I`m hoping to get a P-bass from them later this year.

I just ordered a brand new Edwards LP-130RE in Lemonburst recently direct from Ishibashi. Matter of fact just arrived today! Was way easier than I thought it would be, and the sales rep had very good english. Email them at this address, intl@ishibashi.co.jp and ask for Sakiko. They walk you through the whole process, and if you live in the US and order from Japan you don't get hit with customs fees at all. I paid via Paypal and the guitar was shipped Sunday, I received it Today ( should have came yesterday but I wasn't home)

Here is the actual Japanese site. It shows you most of the stores that carry the item you want. You can order directly from the store instead of using Rakuten as a middle-man. Some have English speaking staff, however..........

As a "ke2" stated, most people I have seen on Rig-Talk have ordered from Ikebe.

I use Rakuten all the time to find what I can't find here in Okinawa.

Ive been on that website for 2 days, going insane, the prices vary so much but what i'm looking
for is really cheap,i'm shocked,so i'd like to get it,or 2 :D
I just want to avoid the BS

Yeah, some of the prices are crazy :gethim:, especially when you take the yen-dollar conversion into account. If you need help, send me a PM.

Awsome, thank you.My girlfriend is from Okinawa, but by way of Italy, and shes bad enough
with english.
I want something from Crafthouse, waiting for a reply.

rakuten is the online shopping mall of Japan. big company. shouldn't have any issues. It really depends on the actual company that is selling the product. Ishibashi as others have indicated are decent to deal with and usually have decent stock. Ikebe is usually the first go to store for me.

I usually use http://kakaku.com/ for finding electronic stuff..

I was checking it out and yes, they have quite a bit, guitars i like.
I e-mailed a guitar broker and the upcharge was CRAZY HIGH,i won't mention any names but
dam they were high.It kinda defeats the purpose.
I'm hoping Ishibashi will ship what i'm looking for.
