What do you guys think about the Randall Modular stuff? More specifically the Lynch Box modules (Grail, Brahma, Mr. Scary, Super-V)?

I my quest for a nice high gain marshall sound this suggestion always comes up and I never give it a chance really. So tell me about them. I think my 3 favs would be Blackface, Brahma and Mr. Scary...

I've tried one and love it. I really like the flexability it offers and great tone. I have come close to purchasing one twice and didn't pull the trigger. I think that I've decided to go with a Splawn QuickRod instead.

They are very cool amps. The modules can be a very addictive, expensive habit. Getting them modded is the only way to go IMO.

I am a huge George fan so take it for what its worth. I love it, especially the cab. Now, I bought mine used, the head and a cab. If I hadn't gotten a great deal I probably would not have bought it. Save yourself from money and just get an RM100 head. For me the interchangeable modules has been a godsend. Warning: there is a thing called Module Addiction. I have a very small collection at seven.

I have learned a lot about tones with this amp. By changing modules, pre-amp tubes and power amp tubes the tonal variations are endless. If you can't afford a lot of other amps this is the way to go.

+1 The Lynch Box is a RM100 with cool cosmetics.

I know it's the same as a RM100 but I like the way the Lynch Box looks more. I see what you guys mean about Module Addiction... but I suppose its better than buying a bunch of expensive amps  The versatility is almost endless.... and I can send the modules to Friedman for mods too haha.

I'm gonna listen to some more clips but I really like what i'm hearing in the Mr. Scary module, its like the instant Back For The Attack tone....

i love my lynch box head.

so much so, that i had mine modded by egnater for the dual modules.

the jewels of the mts randall stuff is the lynch modules.

to be clear, I feel that none of the lynch modules HAVE to be modded. I thought the sounded great right out of the box, with the Mr. Scary and Grail taking top honors.

the SL+ is also a great module that doesnt sounds great and doesnt have to be modded IMO.

From all of the clips that I have heard, Mr. Scary sounds friggin sweet. For me its THE Under Lock and Key/Back For The Attack tone that I always try to cop...

Brahma also sounded like a killer plexi. I'm not a fan of recto's so idk how much I would use the Grail module...
