I had a couple of custom modules done. Jaded faith did me up a great cobra replica one. The salvation mods were great too.

IMO, because there was only so much that could be done to the small preamp platform, and the power section remained the same, they all wound up sounding pretty similar once the amp was cranked. Of course, people always dial their own sound so many amps will sound similar. And the loop on the head was not very kind, it never really got all the hiss out when a decimator was inserted.

It is also a rabbit hole. You can wind up with 10-20 different preamps pretty quickly. They made that huge preamp rack that held a bunch of them. That was what I was about to do when I got my first VHT pittbull and stopped with the MTS stuff.

Yeah, that's the kicker...The preamps do wind up similar....What I found out though is that if I have enough time with an amp, I will dial it in the same way....The Salvation preamps totally hit the nail on the head of each amp they go for...

Here's the 100R based on a OR100 that I recorded this evening....

:D Thanks but it's more than just me I assure you....Anthony is still working magic and there's some more new stuff on the way....You still in the game at all FuzzBoat?

I'm still kinda in the game with 25 modules from almost every modder and two RM100 heads. Fig Randall missed the boat on this for some reason and didn't advertise well or something. So many have never heard of this stuff.

there may be some renewed interest with the new synergy line that is coming out.

especially the half rack that allows you to place a module in the loop, giving your amp a totally different sounding pre amp section

I´ve been using MTS for a few years now, mostly the Lynch modules and some Salvation stuff. Planning a JF order now, though, to get some different stuff in there.

I am super stoked for the new SYN20 that was mentioned can use 5881 .A Synergy/Egnater clean ch built in , one slot for the Diezel module , verb, recording out
pretty sweet

The modules do all end up sounding the same when played at volume... That said, so do many amps because as Matt said , we tend to dial them in the same way. The limiting factor with MTS is that the power section in the amp is a bit weak because it has to suit many different preamps. It is t just one thing. I am holding out for the new SYN line. I like the idea of putting a preamp through a power section on my jcm800. That said you really would benefit with a more tunable power section if you want to come close to every amp out there. This is why either going with JAded Faith mods to an existing amp or waiting for the SYN power amps would be the way to go. Both salvo and JF have some great sounding stuff and it is true that when you record it, the differences between the real amp and module can be minimal. It just comes down to feel. I really want to see what soldano will come up with.

Dude I had all that shit. The power amp as well. I loved the Power amp with the Density setting as well.

I was hard core into the thing. Adding caps and resistors and switches. I went fucking deep with that shit.

I had knobs coming from all over the place. Custom face plates. I was out of fucking control with the shit.

the way I see it every MTS user owes you a debt of gratitude - if it weren't for the tireless efforts on your part MTS would be dinosaur gear at this point.

I cashed out on all my tube gear - went digital and never looked back

right now I'm revisiting old sims after watching this pixxy lixx vid

he's using the 2010 version of TH2's Randal "Scary" sim with Rosen IR's

I'm much happier these days fussing over which IR to use - than constantly
obsessing over tube amps and their tonal inconsistancies

I need inspirational tones at 10W not a fully cranked 100W's

If Synergy ever comes out....I hope it does 'cause it's holding the market captive right now....NAMM is shit or get off the pot methinks...:)

I get that totally...10W and current modelers are great for most applications....100W of raw power is not for most applications...:) Thanks for the kind words sir....

I got rid of it who knows why. That was years ago when I had one.

I absolutely loved my Salvation Camerock module. The JF XTC module was amazing as well. Salvation Angel did a great Engl vibe, too. They were a blast to play. Only sold them off when I went to the Kemper.

I have seen a few go to Kemper from MTS....There are even MTS profiles out there from Michael Wagener himself... :) I like the Kemper....
