Randall RM100KH/Mr Scary vid

Ok before I say anything else let just tell you why this is vid is the way it is. I tried a few takes to see what turned out. Well when I up loaded from my camcorder to my computer the computer saw it all as one file instead of 8 different files. Not sure why. So you see some redundant wankery. So from Madison Square Bedroom I give you... complete and total wankery. If you've been to a Guitar Center recently don't listen to this vid as you've heard all this already. Nothing musical here.


Randall RM100KH with only the Mr Scary module. Marshall 4X12 with Greenbacks. Washburn N4. Rocktron Intellifex in the serial loop for some reverb. Not boost pedal was used.

Prepare to wince and laugh.

EDIT: at 6:54 you actually get some different wankery. :aww: :D

You've got nothing to be ashamed of man. Your playing sounds good, and we don't need a ten minute "blow your doors off" guitar solo. I don't think any of us here could do that. I know I couldn't.

I really dug the tone, and I'm not saying that because you're my friend. You know I like warmer sounds and I'm hesitant on anything bright. When you described it as really bright I thought I wouldn't like it, but it was not harsh at all, and I'm sure the camcorder mic didn't do it justice. It has the 80's thing down pat.

Now you need to fill up those other two slots.

Yeah I do. Pete XTC? Ultra XL? Blackface? Be nice to try thos Salvation modules. Dave's Hairy Brown Eye... gotta try that one.

I liked it quite a bit. It's a little brighter than I'd like, but I bet a lot of that is the camera.

I'd say XTC, I had one with the RM100 that I got from Pete ( I don't know if he modded it or not) and I had an XTC at the same time, and I was damn impressed. I was impressed with the Dual Rectifier as well, and I had one of them here at the same time too.
 
sounds good man, very Lynch!!! And that's more gain than I expected with no boost :rock:
 
What does the Pete XTC sound like? Differences?
 
Mr Scary is the tits...nice to have a player that can show it :D

Most TS type boosts compromise the tone in my opinion....it gets too thin....altho' if you can get a clean enough boost, the compression is off the hook...effortless playing :D

Mark I got mine in a trade. It's new and I got a great deal from Funky Munky Music. Ask for Rich Shelby if you decide to buy from them in the future. I think they typically go for 6-700 empty used. But sometimes they can be had for less. Here is a great place to look.

You're killin me. Thanks. I'm no Ralph Carbone, Andy Wood or Bill Staley, etc.. but I figured if nothing else folks would get an idea of what this particular amp sounds like.
 
Sounds great! A little thin and trebly to me - but could be the camera mic. You can really hear the mean-ness in the gain on this module. I get mine next week and looking forward to it now, thanks for the clip!

Thanks for checking it out. I thin the Bill Lawrence XL500 has a lot to do with the gain you're hearing. That pickup is sick with overdrive. It's a bright sounding pickup but very aggressive.
