hey guys a hack here
ANYHOOT
got my randall rm100m and tc electronice g system, anyone know how to run these 2 together?
how do i change the ch on my randall by using my g system
plz help????

What sort of footswitch comes with it and what sort of lead ? and what are the footswitchable functions ?

isn't the Randall midi controllable? Just hook them up with a midi cable and screw around a little. If not, you'll need a cable with a stereo lack in one end, and whatever plug the remote for the amp uses in the other. The manual for the TC should also cover it.

it is a midi footswitch
i was chattin with a studio guy here in nyc and he was sayin there is no way w/out a ampgizmo type trip...
then i was chekin the tc electronics forum dude i am sooo f#$% confused..
i just play and never been a gear guy so i am in hell but once this rigg is set up its goin 2 sound tits lol
but yeah ke2 thats what i am up 4 ,im goin to try 2 hook it up via midi see what happens, the tc manual is vague wher the randall type set up is concernd alotta mesa users on that forum as well..
so all in all i am just now learning about midi etc etc so i am in manual and forum hell lol
thanx for yalls quik reply

The Randall RM100s are MIDI switchable. You need nothing more than to run a MIDI cable from the THRU/OUT of the G System to the IN of the RM100. Whoever told you that you need an amp gizmo-type system is dead wrong.

Yep, I used a Gmajor that way. Heck, I even used a Boss GT-8 to send midi changes to my RM100s!

hey guys i am still having trouble using my g system 2 switch the channels on my randall
so far i have the midi cable hooked up and i have no idea how to get the g sys and randall to start talking??
i have tried the ways that u all mentioned b4 but no luck, i have to set the internal four position dip switch s1? :(

I don't know exactly how the Randall works but I'm guessing it gets midi PC's to change channels, but I don't know if accepts midi cc's to change channels.

Basically you're going to have to go into the G-systems manual to find out how to send a program change with each patch you hit on the g-system. Make sure that the G-system is set on the same midi channel as the Randall.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about you need to read up more on midi switching.

Do you have a copy of the white paper manual by Laird at the TC forums?

If you dont have it. Look Laird up on the TC forum and he will email it to you. He knows the G-System better than the people at TC Electronics, no shit on that!!!!

I was hoping someone here could email it to me so I don't have to go register over there.

thanx guys
yup have read the w/p from laird ..
he is the man fo sho
the w/p helped in gettin the g set up , but my delima is what channels are the g sys and randall working on???
i have checked the randall midi manual and g sys manual and lairds white paper
i have had this g system since xmas and i am about to trade it for a marshall mode 4..as a back up for my randall or in conjunction with,..
basicly guys all i am tryin to get accomplished is being able to control my effects and channels on my amp with 2 or 3 buttons like so "EXAMPLE" BELOW
switch one}long delay-chrus-comp-clean ch on the amp
switch two}short delay-octav-dirty ch on the amp
switch three "solo"}long tapped delay-digiwhammy-wah -lead"solo" ch on the amp
so if i cant get this midi thang happenin what is my alternative to make this happen
i have a second pedal board with my stomp box effects

im thinkin gcx switcher?
can i change my channels on my randall rm 100 and pedals with that?

I use a g system with the M4 and just switched the G system to omni and went from there and made a bunch of patches. The RM has little dip switches in it on the midi board and would be set for a specific channel usually 1 or 16 I believe.

As long as the G system and Randall are on the same midi channel... run the midi cable from the G system into the in on the Randall.

This part is going to blow your mind, it's so simple: Pick a preset on the G System. Ok? Now click the channel select switch on the Randall until it's the one you want. Now hold it in for 3 seconds. Let go. If you have both items on the same midi channel, it will remember that setting on the amp.

Select your next preset, choose which channel on the randall, hold the button in 3 seconds, rinse and repeat until you've set up all your channels.

That's it. No big deal, no muss, no fuss.

You'll have to remove the amp from the chassis, the dip switches are near the midi jacks.
