Now that this amp has been out for a bit and become less of a mystery I am curious about it. The price tag isn't too bad and I am pretty interested in giving one a whirl but the local Randall dealer said they wouldn't be getting one in for the show room and would only be able to get them if I was to order one. This doesn't help my curiosity much.

When I look up this amp on youtube, as to be expected it's mostly just Ola clips with the same guitar and most of those clips don't help much being that some have poor audio from NAMM showcases or they are studio doctored audio with more than one layer of guitar. The clips also only showcase Ola's settings. Ben Duncan did a demo which was a good start but what's missing are guys playing some solos or perhaps trying to dial in different tones.

There's also not much being said about the build quality and with the amp being built in China, I wonder about the quality of parts and so on.

I am currently loving my EVH and it's versatility but the Satan has me curious for sure. The hype machine surrounding Randall, Ola, Fortin and the new lines of Randall amps is kind of hard to trust because we all know how fan boys work. Not exactly the advice I am looking for.

So let's hear it. Put it all out there, discuss the pros and cons to death in hopes that myself and others in the same boat can decide to buy or not to buy.

I'll sum up/add a little to what I said in our PM. There is definitely hype around it, but regardless of whether it lives up to said hype, it's a good amp that offers something a little different, in my possibly hyped opinion. Whether it's for you or not is a different story. If you want crunchier/punchier mids or want the luxury of not having to use a boost, get a Satan. Beyond that you're just going to have to play one for yourself, or risk it and order one up. Come one, LIVE DANGEROUSLY!
