Hi,I own a Randall Satan and I play metal stuff like Megadeth,Metallica,Amon Amarth and also new stuff like Avenged Sevenfold, the guitar I use are Jackson 6 strings only,I was expecting to get a Mesa Dual Recto multi-watts,it seem more easy to dial compare to the Satan,I'm really concern about the fizzy sound of a rectifier,I know the Mesa dual seem to be a higher quality amp,I really don't know what to do,one thing that¸I like about the Satan is that the sound is very tight and you can have a lot of different voicing ,what would you recommend???

Besides the tone, the feel of these amps are extreme opposites
I imagine the Mesa is built much better for the long haul

The Satan is listed in your signature gear(?)

yes,it's listed in my current gear,I bought the Satan brand new 3 months ago

So are you not happy with the Satan? If so, what do you like and not like about it?

I've got a love/hate Relationship with the amp,I like the thight sound but it's not as user friendly to dial as the Dual Rectifier,Dual is more plug and play style amp...

Rectifiers are all but plug and play!!!!!!

Tone controls interact with each other like no other amp, but once dialed in, they can be awesome.

I had a Fortin Natas and it was quite easy to dial in, once you get the girth and grind figured out.

And when your Satan IS dialed in, no need to mess with it no more. Once my amps are dialed in, I rarely touch the controls, except maybe minimal adjustments for different guitars.

A Bogner Uberschall may be what you need, especially if you want to nail A7X's tone. It's like an improved Dual Rectifier that is smoother, sounds better at low volume, and is easier to dial in.

But YMMV. You should play each one before you drop a ton of money. The Randall Satan is going to be easier to dial in than the Rectifier though.

Fizzy Rectos are due to 2 things. Not turned up enough or not tweaked.

I thought the Rectifier (Triple I had) with MRX EQ in loop, and a OD9+ in front of the amp sounded unreal. Even better than my MKV.

Rectos are actually pretty easy to dial in as long as you understand the tone stack. One glance through the manual will give you everything you need to know. They do like volume though. I think most that complain of fizziness either don't have them cranked up enough or don't know how to properly EQ one.

I've owned a Dual Rectifier in the past, like 2-3 years ago and I shouldn't get rid off it,overall the Mesa seem to be more versatile,3 channel,3 tone stack by channel, better build quality,USA made instead of China and also I think it has more GAIN...it looks like there is not a lot of Randall Satan or Thrasher owner around here, for the type of music I play, don't you think the Dual would suite me better?
by the way,I would like to thank's everyone who already gave me their opinions...

Sorry, was getting drunk last night.

But what i wanted to say really was that my Natas was super easy to dial in compared to the numerous Rectos I've had in the past. Won't be easier with a Recto than your Satan. And by that i mean IF you like your base tone to begin with, witch seems you do.

IMO

I think you're right Chris ,the fact is not that I dont like the tone,I think it's more versatility,if I want to have two different hi gain tone (ex:one more scoop),and a good clean,I'm limited to a two channel amp, otherwise the amp is fine...

OK now i get ya, try an MXR EQ {Or whatever one} in the loop and adjust to taste. Kick it in for a different tone, i have two EQ`s with different settings especially for that.

Might work out good.

Ok,thank's for your help,by the way,I've decided to keep the Satan,I don't want to have remorse if I get rid of it!

I've change my mind, finally I've trade the Satan for a Mesa triple Rectifier multi-watt in dead mint condition!
