The Rhoads and Boston are tuned down a half step since one of my bands tunes down. It ain't perfect but for covers it's good. I used my Kemper, an undisclosed amplifier and a EQ match filter in Ozone 5 :) the EQ match was placed inline during the profiling process, so it's 'baked into' the tone - the clips are of the kemper right after the original. Found the rhoads clip on youtube.

The "before" ones are too bright, the "after" ones too dark :)

holy $hit! I'm usually a tone nazi but i gotta say, the first part of each riff is VERY close to my ear. Certainly good enough for what they are intended for. The Boston was killer! How did they get those tones anyway? Were they direct guitars?

EDIT: I just realize the first half is the actual recording lol.... FAIL on my part. I would say still some work to do but good enough for a mix

Yeah, I was really impressed there and was whipping out my credit card...whoops

Well yeah, first part is the original recording, second is the kemper... I still think it's pretty amazing since it's pretty damn close. But hey, maybe I'm easily amazed :D

Honestly, it sounds like the balls are being taken out of the guitars when the Kemper kicks in. Too compressed and homogenized. The Boston sounded closest to me, which kinda makes sense if you think about it.

That said, in a mix, I think these would work great. I honestly don't think it matters much what a single guitar track sounds like by itself...

I think they sound ok but the tones are really not close enough to give me any gas.
