I attempted to record a video of my Marshall Class 5 combo running through my Peavey MS 4x12 loaded with two WGS Reaper HZ55 and two old Celestion Modern Lead 70 (unpopular I know) speakers. I am saving up for a quality video camera for future clips, but have been experimenting with using the video feature on my iPhone for know. I'm still working on positioning the phone to get as good a sound recording as possible, as the built-in mic clips very easily. This video doesn't have the bad clipping like past videos I've attempted. Let me know what you think?

Sounds pretty dang good, but I bet it'd sound killer through 2 Greenbacks.

Thanks for taking the time out to listen guys, I really appreciate it! I always enjoy hearing video clips from people on this forum.

As for the mention of Greenbacks. I'm looking to eventually replace the Lead 70s with two Greenbacks later this year. The Lead 70s aren't too bad sounding. They are the older white label version that have been well broken in.

I had a C5 for a little while, and I always ran it though a 4x12. Sounded great!

Sounds good, it's much easier to get a clue about the amp's sound compared to close-miked clips.

Sounds pretty good. I'm sure it's more the quality than anything else but the only thing I feel it is lacking is a good low end.

Very nice though, thanks for posting.

Thanks!

The amp has more low end through the 4x12. The low end through the combo is a little less, but still chunky sounding. The one thing I find is if you have amp volume up halfway or higher, you pretty much need to have the bass dialed down to 0 or at 1-2 tops. The amp can get muddy with the bass turned up high, especially when it's cranked. The limitations of bottom end are probably due to the EL84 power tube and lower wattage. I don't have an EQ pedal, but using one might help to add a bit more bottom without making the tone muddy.

Very cool, sounds like a 70's live Marshall sound!

What are you boosting it with - you didn't mention a boost pedal?

Thanks! That's what I love about this amp is the vintage tone. I'm using an MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive as a boost. The amp volume was up about 2-3 o' clock.
