ive seen a few locally for $6-700 so he might be able to get that

There’s a guy on Craigslist here that actually just posted literally a room ful of pedals with a bunch of analogmans including this one, maybe I’ll ask him how much he wants

If it sells, it’s worth it.

Mike makes great pedals, have a few but the KOT demand baffles me.
But its good for business so doing something right.
BTW Mike Piera is a fookin Genius.
Cut his teeth as a software Engineer in Japan in da 80's.
Can do no wrong in my book.

I agree. If people buy it good for him. I certainly don’t understand a pedal being worth that but look at where Klons ended up

I've been on the waiting list over two years and then Mike had serious family stuff
to deal with that shut him down for quite a while, so they are pretty hard to come by!

I always felt the prices for KOT's were not justified in terms of quality of tone, but I guess it's more from the waitlist and being hard to come by. They sound good, don't get me wrong, but imo there are better od pedals out there for less money and the Klon humiliated it when I AB'ed them. My Thorpy Heavy Water and Coppersound Broadway, while very different sounding than the KOT, imo have a much more organic, rich tone than the KOT's yet are way way cheaper. Both underrated I guess. Who know's though maybe he'll get what he's asking for it or close to it

So admittedly I have never listened to a clip. I just did. I don’t get it

I read so many people saying one side of the KoT is really no big deal so I found
a PoT for reasonable bucks - its only got what's considered the good half.

I have a KOT. The waitlist is pretty long (which is what drives the price up), and they sell at much more reasonable prices direct from the manufacturer. At the price of purchase new, it is worth it if that is the sound you like. I would not pay close to 925 for it though. I thought it was excessive when they were in the 450-600 range. But it is a good pedal. That being said I have too many pedals and it isn't even on my board and has been sitting in its box for over a year with like 2 hours of playtime on it.

Boutique pedals are getting a bit nuts. I have a Generation Loss pedal and they are routinely listed around 1k. I really like the pedal but I don't know if I like any pedal 1k worth. My 2 cents.

Which half is it? Red or Yellow?

Vintage pedals are crazy too. I've been thinking of selling my early 90s EH DMM because they are so high now. Then I play it.

Not sure. Pretty sure it's the Blues Driver side. Definitely doesn't have the TS mid-thing going on.

Works great all around but especially with neck humbuckers.

In the KoT they're both Marshall Bluesbreaker (not Boss Blues Driver, which is a really good pedal too). One side just has more gain AFAIK. Both sides sound very similar other than gain.

The Duelist is the one with Bluesbreaker and TS808. I'd like to try one of those too. That small difference between a great TS and a mediocre TS makes all the difference.

About 10 years ago me and a buddy started an online list of every OD/Boost/Distortion pedal on the market at that time.
From huge mass pro companies all the way down to the handmade boutique stuff.

I think we quit after we hit 200. It got to be ridiculous.

Totally agree on the TS. Best I ever had was an Analogman Silver mod TS9.
My SIL gigs with it now.
