I have a Rebel 30 head which I run through 2, Scumback M55's....I love the clean channel....but the OD channel at higher volumes gets a little thin sounding..Not enough low mids, to many high mids and highs.....This is at half volume....pretty loud....I run the bass at noon, mids at 11 oclock, and treble at 9 oclock...watts control all the way up, power tubes dial set in the middle...I also retubed it with JJ6V6's, EH EL84's, and all JJ 12AX7's...known for their dark tones...I also only play set neck/humbucker guitars....blues rock....wonderin if anyone else has had tone issues with the OD channel???....
is the Renegade like this as well??

that may be the nature of the el84 beast, my 112 el-34 Renegade stays fat at gig volume.
I'm running a tungsol-electro harmonix -penta chinese-tung sol-stock sovtek for the loop-sovtek lps in pi
May want to try the elite 80 speaker again for giggles

My Tourmaster Head sounded great with the Scumbacks, so I think it's just the amp design....

Funny I have a Rebel 30 Head and I don't find it that way at all. Did you ever try the tube mix at around 2 o'clock and bump the bass a little bit more? I am running a 2 x 12 1936 Marshall cabinet which is nice or a 1x12 loaded with a celestion greenback which I find even better.

I run my bass at 1 o'clock mids at 10 o'clock and treble anywhere between 9-1 o'clock depending on the guitar and the song. The bright and tight switches are engaged.

cool let me know how that sounds to you. I suspect you may have a tube issue cuz these amps are not typically thin sounding to me.......especially at higher volumes. I'm gigging mine tonight so I am going to have my ear to the amp and get a feel for it at higher volumes, haven't gigged with it in a while. I'll let you know.
