Rebuilding the splatter Marshall

Installed the new board and it sounded pretty good right off. Couple of minor tweeks and it's way better now. Still think it might still have too much gain in Hi input. Lo input at about 7-8 on Gain is about my normal level.

Looks awesome...:2thumbsup:

If you didn't know any better one would think it was an Marshall board. I'll bet the traces and board is much thicker than stock as well!

Looks like you are doing the whole BE and HBE with the 4 gain stage..... NICE!

Thanks! It's double-sided with thru holes. Yes BE/HBE is basically it without a bunch of switches/options and a few slightly tweeked values. I felt like some of the stock values seemed excessive considering the voltages in this amp.

Lurking in the shadows is a very ugly ground buss but I'm out of buss wire. I'll clean that up when I make any final tweeks.

I did a few tweeks and decided to play it as is while I attend to other projects. I'll do the FX loop and redo the ground buss then. It looks just like above except I swapped the V3 27k grid resistor and 33k bias range resistor. I should have put them that way in the first place. Then a 560pF Treble cap instead of 470pF I had in there. And another 68k in parallel with the 68k to ground on the additional board for V1. A bit too wild and gainy with 68k there for me. But I paralleled V1 so it's different than typical HBE. It also still has Langner remnants, those two yellow cathode caps are 0.47uF instead of 0.68uF.

Projects like these (among others)...and this damn lawn:

Gibson GA15 rebuild using Brown Deluxe preamp (this amp was dead with melted board)

Musikraft Banana neck nitro finish (black gloss headstock face with waterslide and vintage amber on all other Maple)
I'm having the Star body done (single humbucker, top-mount Floyd), I can only spray so much
