Recommend me a fuzz for doom!

I'm currently using my Maxon OD808 with gain/volume maxed for doom and I think it's lovely, but I'd like a fuzz for this purpose as well. I have a BMP and it's cool for using on the clean channel, but I'm looking for something more transparent with less gain and more squash. I am looking to boost a gritty Marshall type gain channel to get doom tone ala Candlemass/Sleep/High on Fire. The Dallas Arbiter (Jimi Hendrix) fuzz is what I am currently looking into for its transparent squash. Any recommendations you can throw my way?

Zvexx Fuzz Factory is great for many many fuzz tones IMHO, one of my faves!!

You should check out the Bag of Dicks (great name for a pedal, right? lol) or the Body Donor.

They're both built by Casey Gooby in MN and you can purchase them from Willies Guitars in St. Paul, MN. Call and ask for Nick and tell him Jordan sent ya. ;) I think they cost around $150. I ab'd the BOD against a ton of other fuzzes and it's one of my current favs, especially for doom and heavier stuff. The Body Donor has a bit more gain than the BOD.

Why do a lot of modern fuzzes sound like an auto-wah or an envelope follower or something like that?

There is like a squelchy touch-sensitive sound to them. At least from what I can hear on the Proguitarshop demos. It's very evident in the Torn's Peaker demo. I can't think of any other way to describe it other than squelchy.

Alot of the vintage ciruits had octave generators in them. oct/fuzz. sometimes they can sound like a ring modulator. The majority of Fuzz boxes dont do that

It is my favorite. There is a pretty simple mod to make them fatter sounding.... like a Big Muff. I do not know if it well get the sound you want .... but it can do a lot more voices than most pedals. Many many more. Pretty amazing pedal.

Yeah from the demo it sounds really good and very tweakable too. The thing I don't like is it seems like one of those pedals that likes to take the amp out of the equation by generating most of the tone within the circuit itself. I want to preserve the amp's tone and just add a little grind. From what I am hearing, I really like the Musket fuzz, a little expensive, but sounds like a winner so far. Wish there were PGS demos of some of the other pedals being talked about here. The Bag of Dicks sounds really interesting from your summary.

It is a very strong effect that takes over the sound.
This well give a idea of the possibility ....

Here's an update, just watched the PGS demo for the 'Hoof' and I love it too. Right up there with the Musket, top two so far. Anybody know what the 'Texture' knob on the Devi-Ever Torn's Peaker does? Circuit wise I mean.
