Recommendations for a wah-wah (as a filter/EQ boost)

Instead of dong the whacka-whacka duck quack wah-wah sound, or the Hendrix/Hammett wailing, I've recently started thinking of getting a wah-wah pedal to use as an EQ filter in front of my amp, to boost certain frequencies, which I can be foot-controlled. Sort of like the cocked-wah thing, which I think that Michael Schenker and Frank Zappa did. I think Brian May used the method as well at one stage.

Also I have a feeling that the 'cocked-wah' technique is what inspired the 'Rockman-squawk' in the classic Boston Sound and those Rockman headphone amps you often hear in a lot of 80s songs & movie soundtracks, e.g. Ghostbusters, Scarface, Berlin & other new wave bands, etc. etc. etc.

Anyway away from that, what's a good wah-wah pedal with a very 'vocal' quality that doesn't thin the tone? And with more adjustment than just the footpedal?

And what about a fuzz-wah?

EDIT: but NOTE: I want a footpedal! just with more controls.....

You might want to look into the Dunlop Q Zone.

Unfortunately, it's now a Kerry King sig, but it's got Volume, Peak (pedal position) and Q (peak width), so it's pretty tweakable.

Yeah sucks about being a signature. I try to avoid signature gear as much as possible, even though my guitar's pickups are (hey they're Aldrich pickups and kick arse  ).

Anyway thanks for the suggestion. I wasn't aware of this pedal before. Is it foot-controllable at all? Because it'd be cool to adjust the frequency band on the fly with my foot, hence using a wah-wah pedal.

Best bets are Macari based wah (Colorsound for example, or Teese Wheels of Fire)

Or a Parachute.

For the solo for the song Woundfiller in my sig I used a Wheels of Fire wah, but more in the traditional wah sense.

What about the gig-fx Sub Wah?

It'd be really cool to do some synthy kind of stuff. I have a Mistress flanger and a wet chorus, plus a POG which does cool organy stuff among others, so to vary the sound like a filter would be cool I think.

Anyone tried the Sub Wah?

I know you want something with the expression side of things but honestly the q zone is exactly what you're looking for. I really need to get myself another one.
