So I just traded my Reborn for a Royal Atlantic.
Haha, man, I still have that RA. Everytime I think about selling it, I plug it in, and it sounds too good to consider it. :)

I have a triple reborn, and I really dig it too. Like others, I found it a little tighter and brighter than previous revisions I've owned. It has a real nice feel, and retains the recto grind. The new features are very useful IMO, and it has a surprisingly decent clean channel. I don't think fluff was serious, his recto vids kick ass.

So now I gots your EVH n gots a RA100 again... This head is really killer, first thing I did was play thru that clean channel its so amazing sounding.i tried some 6L6s in it. eh weird but not good.

That ended up being a great trade for both of us, how often does that happen, lol. And yeah man, that clean channel is one of my favorites overall, not just for high gainers. A little surprised you traded off the TRec though, hope you don't miss her! ;)

Its all in the way you eq it and use the master volume... They sound great if you take the time.

 I think that's a big part of the problem with Rectos. Yes they have a lot of preamp gain, but it needs to balance out with a big power section and some volume. EQ is pretty simple once you understand that the treble is first in the tone chain and the controls are dependent on each other from there.

You understand it. Can't set a Mesa up like a Marshall and expect it to sound worth a damn.
