I remember that for me it came and went pretty quick and it didn't really stick with me. I revisted it and thought some of the stuff was cool. But I thought it was kinda curious when Page and Plant ripped Whitesnake in interviews for ripping off Led Zep, then Page does an alnum with him. Oh well I guess.

Whisper a Prayer for the Dying.
Absolution Blues.

Those 2 are killer, most of the rest sounds like Coverdale had something stuck in his throat.

I had completely forgotten about that collaboration (must have "misplaced" that particular group of brain cells   ) Thanks for posting

IMO the solo on take me for a little while is one of the best pentatonic lead moments out there. Gives me the shivers everytime.

Thats Funny….I just downloaded that album a few days ago. Trying to get my collection of cassette tapes on iTunes

I remember I was just turning twenty and how I felt this album was a major step back for Coverdale, u know from 1987 for example, I just didn't see the sheer GREATNESS of this album at the time. A friend of mine tried to turn me into this a couple of times but to no avail. In one ear out the other. Page who?!

Yaeh, still listen to this album, great stuff! Love the tones on Don't leave me this way  .

I liked the album but preferred The Firm as well.

I will say that I love this tune however. I love the intro acoustic riff:

I remember when the tour was announced. I was traveling across the midwest somewhere with a friend in my Camero following the Grateful Dead   I believe Donald Fagen and Walter Becker was also announced to start a tour  My girlfriend got preg so life ended and I didn't see any shows until Megadeth Cryptic Writings (1997–1998) tour along with Fiona Apple  Then the Divorce :D Ahhhhh
