They come around here now and then down to the south bay and play many modest size clubs but they always sound great. Ty gets some pretty meaty tone from of his Strat.

My favorite band. 3 piece, all sing well...great band. Saw them 5 times, once in a smaller club in mpls where they played Gretchen beginning to end. Dogman tour was great.....love Ty's bluesy style.

Great Band. I recently saw Dug who was playing his own material. He played with the guitarists from Galactic Cowboys and had a really good drummer. Cory Glover also performed. Maybe 60 people in a small theater. I'll be going back to see KingsX if they come again.

Love the KingsX harmonies. And yea the strat is spitting out some nice thick tones.

One of my all-time favs
Seen them 6 times, they used to tour this area a lot. Ty's tone back then was amazing. Its still amazing, but different since he has changed up everything, but it still sounds like Ty

Nice!

Very nice to see some folks here that still know good rock n roll.

JTyson, I hear you about Ty switching up things. He's been endorsed by Yamaha (guitars) for quite some time and now he primarily plays drop D which is cool.

There's couple of really cool documentaries on YT too that might shed more light on their upbringings in the old school rock era.

1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVs6x_UXEZQ (Part 1)
2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=256-nBZDnCM (Part 2)

They talk about the early days playing at the Twilight Zone (one car garage club) were they were paid for the gig, but nobody showed up so they played to the bar tender who finally left after King's X's first set. But King's X were being paid for the gig so they just kept on playing to the void.

I'm completely old school rock/metal myself . . . Black Sabbath, Robin Trower, Jimi, Aerosmith, Rush, Boston, Jethro Tull, STP, Deep Purple (Blackmore), Judas Priest. You get the idea. Nothing much to brag about these days in the rock/metal area since (IMO) 2002 or so except the one-hit-wonders.

He brings it at 63. Guy is in great shape. Seems really down to Earth as well. No one ever seems to slam him like they do Halford, which is cool. Dug puts it out there and could care less what anyone thinks about it.

You mean Ty's Born September 17, 1961 (age 53) and still rocking hard!

Isn't Dug like 65?

I think you guys are talking about 2 different dudes....lol. Anyway, love these guys and I saw them a few times and they always killed it. My favorite show was when they opened a gig for Living Colour in San Jose and just crushed them!

I think that you're talking about two different bands. Cory Glover did a few tunes with "living Colour" not "Living Color".

Bro! :)
